Quieter Thunder

Do you look like the cat in the thumbnail every time you hear thunder in Morrowind?

If you're like me you probably jump every single time a thunderstorm begins in Morrowind when playing at a regular volume. This mod reduces the volume of thunder to 50%, 25%, 10%, or 0% depending on which file you download. There's also a silly 200% volume version I added for fun.

If you would like rain to be quieter as well, a mod already exists for that. It is called Quieter Doors (And Rain) by LeahTheUnknown. Their mod includes two .esp files. One for doors and one for rain. If you wish to only lower the volume of rain, then only enable the Quieter Rain - 50%.esp file on their mod.

This is my first ever upload to NexusMods. This is an issue that I couldn't find another mod to fix so I decided to fix it myself, and after some time I decided to share my fix with others.

To install:

Method 1 (if using a mod manager): Simply click the "Mod Manager Download" button on the file version you want and your mod manager should handle the rest.

Method 2 (if not using a mod manager): Paste the contents of the included .zip file into the root of your Morrowind folder and replace the 8 files when prompted to. It may be a good idea to back up your files beforehand, but I included the vanilla files as a separate download in case you forget or don't want to.

To uninstall (if manually installed):

Method 1: Install the Vanilla Volume (Manually Install Only) file from this mod just as you did with the main file you chose and replace the 8 files when prompted.

Method 2: Restore your backup of the following files.

Additional note:

The _Thunder0.wav and _Thunder1.wav files might be specific to the propylon chamber teleport. If you don't have it installed and find that it only replaces 6 files, that is nothing to worry about as having those superfluous audio files (if they are indeed superfluous) will not harm anything in your game.
