📋 About This Mod
Moving Minecarts
This mod makes the couple of minecarts in the game usable so that you can push them along their tracks and ride in them.
It can serve as a small touch of immersion for miners, prospectors, and adventurers alike. With so few minecart tracks in the game (five), however, the base mod here really serves more as a proof of concept and modder's resource.
Tested and works on both vanilla (with Morrowind Code Patch) and OpenMW.
Minecart Features
-
[]Push or ride the minecart.[/]
[]Minecarts speed up going down and slow down going up.[/]
[]Based on scripted instructions, minecarts can follow the turns and slopes in any track. The easiest design is forward and then back in reverse. It's also possible to do a three-step track for carts starting in the middle. More complicated scripting should be able to handle intersections added by Tamriel_Data.[/]
[]Main script calls a locations script that calls each track's unique script, which makes it easy to create compatibility patches.[/]

✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Turns static scenery into a fun, interactive ride—great for immersion fans.
- Simple concept, well-executed: push or ride, no complex mechanics.
- Community has shown some love (40 endorsements) for this niche addition.
⚠️ Cons
- Only five tracks—so it's a small addition, not a major overhaul.
- Last updated in 2023—may not be tested with the latest Morrowind modding setups.
For Morrowind players who love immersive touches and want to interact with the world's details. If you're a completionist who enjoys exploring every corner of Vvardenfell, this adds a bit of fun. Skip if you're looking for gameplay overhauls—this is purely a cosmetic/immersion tweak.
