Lossless Soundtrack (OpenMW)

Upgrades the game's lossy in game soundtrack to lossless flac quality from the Collector's Edition Soundtrack CD

Installation instructions

Delete the old .mp3 files of the vanilla music from your Data Files/Music/Explore and Data Files/Music/Battle (mx_explore, mw battle.p3 etc...). Be careful not to delete music from other mods if you have em. Afterwards drop the contents of the zip into your root Morrowind folder.

Ive also included a "Extra" Folder that contains three tracks used during cutscenes. They arent used by the game as the game plays the cutscene audio through the .bik video files located in data files/movies. 

They seemed too short for exploration imo but you can drop them into the Explore folder if youd prefer to.

UPDATE: This mod was intemded to be used for the Main Menu as well. However it seems the engine is hardcoded to fetch the specific .mp3 for the Special folder. The In Game music however will be higher quality as intended.

Requirements

OpenMW is required for this mod to work. The vanilla executable does not support lossless audio.

The Vanilla executable uses DirectSound for the audio and is ancient. It only supports mp3 files for the soundtrack. This is the sad truth with ancient game engines. Knights of the Old Republic and Half Life 1 both suffer from this.

The old exe still supports 320kbps mp3s. You can use these higher quality mp3s for that. They arent lossless but are much better than the ones shipped with the game. I'm not aware of any mwse plugin that would enable compatibility but thats something somebody should look into.

I chose the flac format due to Openmw using ffmpeg.

On Alpha 3 Launcher

OpenMW on android (. 52 Alpha 3) was giving issues not playing the flac files at all for me unlike pc. I fixed this fixed by converting to wav. Doesnt affect the sound just makes the download a lil bigger. Try this wav version if you have any playback issues.
