📋 About This Mod

Please note: the Guards variant has been moved into a seperate addon file found in the same download. Please refer to the new Readme for installation instructions. This update is compatible with existing saves, but be sure to clean your save file with a tool such as Wrye Mash.

This edition of Interesting Outfits focuses on Great House NPCs, giving various characters makeovers with assets from Tamriel_Data, OAAB_Data, Ivolga's Armored Robes, Danke's Armors, RuffinVangar, Kellborn, TheRealAshtaar, and others to make them feel less generic.

A Guard Diversity addon is also included, heavily inspired by Half11's Yet Another Guard Diversity. In IO - Kinsmer it only adds randomised guards for the Great Houses; you'll need the Guard Diversity version of IO - Imperials for Imperial guards.

Requirements:

  • []Tamriel_Data and OAAB_Data[/]

    Compatibilities:

    • []If using Vivec: City of Swords, use only the CORE version and DO NOT load IO - Vivec Palace Armigers Addon.esp[/]
      • []Includes versions compatible with Beautiful Cities of Morrowind.[/]
        • []Compatible with Uvirith's Legacy and Telvanni Magister Robes - use Merged Objects.[/]

        • []Compatible with Ivolga's Mabrigash Armored Robes. This mod doesn't touch the Mabrigash.[/]

        • []Conflicts with Ivolga's Armored Robes Compilation and NPC changes. Edits the same npcs, also assets from that mod are included here.[/]

        • []Conflicts with FMI - Athyn and Shardie (this mod does the same thing).[/]

[]Conflicts with the female guards addon for OAAB - Tel Mora if using one of the YAGD versions. This mod does the same thing.[/]

[]Will conflict with mods that edit the same npcs' appearances. The last mod in your load list should take precedence.[/]

          Load Order:

          • []Beautiful Cities of Morrowind.esp[/]

            []BCOM_pathgrid_reset.esp[/]

            []sp_alruhn.esp (Ald-Ruhn City of Ash)[/]

            []RPNR_Library.esp (Library of Vivec Enhanced[/]

            []IO - Kinsmer.esp[/]

            []IO - Kinsmer ADDON Guards[/]

[]IO - Vivec Palace Armigers Addon.esp[/]

[]IO - Ordinators Patch for RPNR_Library.esp[/]

            []IO - Imperials[/]

            []IO - Cultists[/]

            []IO - Ashlanders[/]

            Recommendations:

There are a bunch of mods that compliment this one nicely:

[]IO - Imperials - the other half of this mod![/]

[]IO - Cultists - for the cultists squatting in Daedric shrines.[/]

[*]IO - Solstheim TOTSP - gives the IO treatment to Solstheim: Tomb

🤖 AI-enhanced — based on mod data

This mod adds armor and clothing assets from several popular mods to Great House and miscellaneous NPCs in Morrowind, making them feel less generic. It's for players who want more visual variety without overhauling the entire game. With 244 endorsements and recent updates, it's a community-supported cosmetic enhancement.

✨ Key Features

Adds assets from Tamriel_Data, OAAB_Data, Ivolga's Armored Robes, Danke's Armors, RuffinVangar, Kellborn, and RealAshtaar to NPCs.
Applies new outfits to various Great House and miscellaneous NPCs to reduce generic appearances.
Requires multiple mod dependencies for asset integration.

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Community-approved with 244 endorsements and over 25k downloads.
  • Recently updated (July 2026) so it's likely compatible with current mod setups.
  • Breathes life into NPCs by giving them unique gear from well-known asset packs.

⚠️ Cons

  • Requires a bunch of external mods (Tamriel_Data, OAAB_Data, etc.) which can be a hassle to install.
  • Only affects NPC outfits—no gameplay changes, so if you want new quests or mechanics, look elsewhere.
  • Limited to Great House and misc NPCs, so some factions might still look generic.
🎯 Is This For You?
For Morrowind players who've played through the game multiple times and want NPCs to look more distinct without a full overhaul. Also great for modders who already use those asset packs. Skip if you're looking for gameplay additions or if you don't want to deal with dependency management.

💡 Beginner Tips

  • Use a mod manager like Wrye Mash or Mod Organizer 2 to handle the multiple dependencies and load order.
  • Make sure all required asset mods are installed and activated before this mod, or NPCs may show missing meshes.
  • Check the mod's forum or comments for any patches if you use other NPC overhaul mods to avoid conflicts.
