📋 About This Mod

Uses the formulas in the base game which determine Health and Magicka regeneration while resting, and applies them continuously to normal game-play.

In detail, when you rest in-game you regenerate health at a rate of 10% of your Endurance every hour, and regenerate Magicka at a rate of 15% of your Intelligence per hour. This mod used those formulas as a model to add a constant regen at the same rate. (An in-game hour is 2 real-time minutes, so over the course of 2 minutes you will regen 10% of your Endurance as health and 15% of your Intelligence as Magicka)

There is a version available for normal play, as well as a version designed for the OpenMW multiplayer offshoot Tes3MP. The only real difference between the two is that the Tes3MP version continues regen while the inventory/other menus are open as time does not stop when they are.

Feel free to edit and redistribute this in any way you want. The relevant script is named "health_magicka_regen".

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Simple and effective: makes health and magicka regen over time, which is a godsend for exploration-heavy playthroughs.
  • Community-tested with 224 endorsements and over 5.5k downloads, so it's proven to work for many players.
  • No extra bloat—just tweaks the regen system without overhauling other mechanics.

⚠️ Cons

  • Last updated in 2017, so it may not be compatible with the latest game patches or DLC.
  • Only affects regen while not resting—if you're looking for combat regen, this won't help.
🎯 Is This For You?
For players who find the vanilla resting-only regen tedious and want a more relaxed pace without installing a full gameplay overhaul. Also great for mages who hate chugging potions after every fight. Skip if you prefer hardcore survival mechanics or want regen during combat.

💡 Beginner Tips

  • Since this mod only changes regen outside of combat, pair it with a difficulty mod if you want to keep combat challenging.
  • Check your game version—if you're on a newer patch, test the mod early to ensure it doesn't conflict with other tweaks.
  • If you use a mod manager, install it manually by dropping the files into your Data folder to avoid load order issues.
