📋 About This Mod

This mod is based on Dwemer Beam Blades - Remiros's great mod for MWSE. It uses the crafting framework for creating the weapons.

This adds the craftable Dwemer Beam Blades to OpenMW. The items needed are found in Dwemer ruins in leveled lists. I slightly adjusted the chance of finding them (it was insanely unlikely in Remiros's original version) and altered the enchantment along with the weight of the Blades. One Beam Blade now weighs 5, because I do not see what is heavy besides the handle.

Current changes:

  • []I added colored light effects for every blade, they do also hum and make a lightsaber swishing sound - unfortunately incompatible with combat sound overhaul.

[]Crafting redone, you can now also craft the hilt from Dwemer materials.

[]I have added some lore in form of a book.

In order to craft beam blades, you need to craft a derelict capacitor and find one of the five colored focus crystals (blue, red, green, yellow and purple). It works inside the OpenMW crafting framework, and your armorer level needs to be at least 50 in order for it to work. For the capacitor, your armorer level needs to be 35.

I have not yet included the advanced beam blades, for I wanted to cook up some cool enchantment effects and requirements for them!

This is my very first mod, I therefore hope everything works out! I tested it for myself and it was fine. I liked these steampunk lightsabers so much that I needed them in OpenMW. Thanks to Remiros and ownlyme, who came up with the great OpenMW crafting framework, it is now finally possible!

    Installation:

    • []First, install the original mod from Remiros: https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/52818?tab=posts

    • Paste the files from here into your Morrowind directory; replace the original mod's .esp-file.

Because of my low level of experience in Morrowind modding (even this basic), please report everything which may not work immediately, and I fix it.
