📋 About This Mod
Introduction
Fortify Health is a terrible effect, even with MCP fix. When it expires and your health is below its magnitude, it immediately kills you. The possible applications for such effect is ridicullously small. Either you didn't need it, or you should have casted healing spell instead. On the other hand, there is Drain Health, which allows to instantly kill anyone very cheap, totally ignoring the duration setting.
Description
Using MWSE lua, this mod fixes these two effects in an easy way. Now they won't be able to kill anyone by themselves. When the Fortyfy Health Effect ends or Drain Health Effect begins, actors will be left with at least one health point.

Borrowed Time is an MWSE Lua mod for Morrowind that prevents Fortify Health and Drain Health effects from killing actors outright, leaving them at least one health point. It's a niche gameplay tweak for players who want to avoid unfair deaths from health-altering effects.

📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community-approved with 302 endorsements and over 7,700 downloads.
- Fixes a specific annoyance where health-altering effects can cause unexpected deaths.
- Lightweight and focused—does one thing and does it well.
⚠️ Cons
- Last updated in April 2022—may not be compatible with the latest Morrowind patches or MWSE updates.
- Requires MWSE, which adds an extra dependency for players not already using it.
- Niche appeal—only relevant if you frequently use or encounter Fortify/Drain Health effects.
For Morrowind players who use Fortify or Drain Health spells and hate dying from the health drop. Also for modders who want to prevent unfair deaths in their own mods. Skip if you rarely use these effects or prefer vanilla behavior.
