📋 About This Mod

After being dissatisfied with current available movement and fatigue mods I decided to make my own. This mod changes the movement speed curve so that a character moves much faster at low Speed/Athletics but has the same speed as vanilla

BONZARION'S MOVEMENT REBALANCE

TL;DR:

At 30 Speed/5 Athletics the character's movement speed is roughly equal to the vanilla's 50 Speed/50 Athletics. At high Speed and Athletics the movement is slightly faster but not by much. Encumbrance has much lower impact on movement speed. Running costs almost nothing below 50% encumbrance and high encumbrance fatigue drain can almost be nullified by investing in Endurance.

MOD DESCRIPTION:

Everyone knows that Morrowind has a weird design when it comes to how movement is balanced in the game. Everyone remembers the frustration when they made their first Breton Mage: 30 Speed and 5 Athletics is a painful experience. A character like that moves at a snail's pace and becomes exhausted while running half way through Seyda Neen. There is no other stat in the game that has a bigger impact on your gameplay experience: You may have 30 Strength and still do fine, you may have 30 Intelligence and still be able to cast a few spells, etc.

There are a bunch of mods out here on Nexus that try to remedy this. But to my taste the impact is either too strong or too small. What I wanted to make is a mod that still respects the Fatigue mechanic but also makes it possible to have a character who is still playable without any major investment into either Speed or Athletics. I lowered the Encumbrance impact on move speed so that it's possible to make a heavily armored Cleric who neglects Speed and still feels comfortable moving around, while using magic to replenish Fatigue. Endurance now plays a major role in lowering Fatigue drain from heavy encumbrance so it's still just as relevant as it was in the vanilla. By no means this mod makes either Speed, Fatigue or Athletics meaningless, they still have a great impact on gameplay but not as punishing as before.

ACTUAL CHANGES:

fAthleticsRunBonus = 1. 1 from 1 (Athletics has a slightly higher impact on run speed)

fBaseRunMultiplier = 1. 85 form 1. 75 (Running in general is a bit faster)

fEncumberedMoveEffect = 0. 15 from 0. 3 (Encumbrance slows you down 50% less)

fFatigueReturnBase = 1 from 2. 5 (Fatigue restores much slower by itself)

fFatigueReturnMult = 0. 03 from 0. 02 (Endurance has a higher impact on Fatigue regen)

fFatigueRunBase = 1 from 5 (Much lower Fatigue cost for running)

fFatigueRunMult = 4 from
