📋 About This Mod
A very small plugin which uses Birthsign to turn the player into a vampire instead of creating a custom race. Using Birthsign allows the player to be able to use their favaourite race and classes, e.g. An Imperial Vampire Nightblade, which I personally feel would add more realism to the game (it's funny when people say "Nice try, Vampire..." when you fail an "Admire" option as you wouldn't even have been able to talk to people as a vampire in the first place!). Also, I've heard people on the Net talking about how useless Birthsigns were (don't know how true that may be) which made me feel that using Birthsigns was a better way to "inflict Vampirism" than taking away the choice of one's favourite profession or race.
Bloodlust is a tiny Oblivion plugin that uses the Birthsign system to turn the player into a vampire, allowing them to keep their preferred race and class. It offers a simple alternative to custom vampire races, with 61 endorsements and last updated in 2008.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Clever workaround that keeps your favorite race and class intact—no forced custom race.
- Tiny plugin, so it won't bloat your load order or cause performance hits.
- Community-tested with 61 endorsements and over 18k downloads—clearly some players found it useful.
⚠️ Cons
- Last updated in 2008—may have compatibility issues with newer Oblivion versions or mods.
- Limited to turning you into a vampire via Birthsign; no additional features or customization.
For Oblivion players who want to become a vampire without sacrificing their preferred race and class combo. If you're tired of custom vampire races that force a specific look or abilities, this is a lightweight alternative. Skip if you're looking for a full vampire overhaul with new powers and quests—this is purely a transformation method.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure to select the Bloodlust Birthsign when creating your character to trigger the vampire transformation.
- Since the mod is from 2008, test it with your current Oblivion setup and other mods to ensure no conflicts.
- If you're using a mod manager, manually place the plugin in your Data folder and activate it in the launcher.
