📋 About This Mod

Equaliser Plugins

Equalises all attack values (chop, slash, thrust) in the game and it's expansions so that you can access all animations in the game as you fight, but they all do the same damage. Optional Versions for Patch for purists.

Equaliser Patcher

A small tool that reads your OpenMW load order (openmw.cfg) and, for every mod plugin that adds weapons, generates a companion _equalised.omwaddon patch. Each weapon's chop / slash / thrust min and max get set to the highest-average of its three attacks - so vanilla "always use best attack" behaviour is preserved no matter which attack you swing.

Vanilla Morrowind.esm, Tribunal.esm, and Bloodmoon.esm are skipped by default since the prebuilt BestAttackEqualized.omwaddon already covers them. Re-runs are safe: previously generated _equalised patches are detected and skipped automatically.

For users (the .exe)

You need two files in the same folder:

Equaliser.exe - this tool.

tes3conv.exe - download from https://github.com/Greatness7/tes3conv/releases/latest.

You also need OpenMW installed with a working load order, i.e. a real openmw.cfg that points at your Morrowind.esm and your mods.

Put Equaliser.exe and tes3conv.exe together in any folder you like.

Double-click Equaliser.exe.

A console window opens. It auto-finds your openmw.cfg at %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\OpenMW\openmw.cfg. If it can't find one, a file picker opens so you can point at it manually.

Wait. The tool walks every mod in your load order, prints a line per plugin (+ patched, - no weapons), and finishes with a summary like Patched: 16 No weapons: 79 Missing: 0 Failed: 0.

Patches land in a new equaliser_patched\ folder right next to Equaliser.exe.

Install the patches into OpenMW

If you use MO2 I recommend this plugin to auto export your mo2 load order into openmw (skips the rest of this readme) https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/45642

If not using MO2 to openmw plugin:

You have to (a) tell OpenMW where to find the patches and (b) tell it to load them.

If you launch OpenMW directly (no MO2)

Open openmw.cfg in a text editor.

Add a new data= line pointing at the equaliser_patched\ folder, e.g.:

data="C:\Path\To\equaliser_patched"

For each <name>_equalised.omwaddon file in that folder, add a matching content= line. Each patch must load AFTER the mod it patches. For example, Cutting Room Floor_equalised.omwaddon must come after Cutting Room Floor.esp.

Save and launch.

The OpenMW launcher (openmw-launcher.exe) can also do this through its GUI: add the data path under Data Files, then tick the patches in the content list.

If you use MO2 (Mod Organizer 2)

Move the gener
