Basic Chargen - Alternate Start

Introduction

A straightforward approach to an alternative start mod.

Basic Chargen provides you with twenty-one starting options to choose from, a built-in guide to help you decide, and a chance to still complete the main quest should you change your mind later on.

If you want to complete the main quest, speak with Manara Dral, who wanders the Balmora Temple. You can also answer ‘incorrectly’ to permanently remove the option of completing the main quest.

Compatibility

This mod is compatible with OpenMW, Beautiful Cities of Morrowind, Solstheim: Tomb of the Snow Prince, and OAAB Shipwrecks.

I also chose not to add Solstheim start points beyond the East Empire Company option, which begins at the Khuul docks. Too many mods alter Solstheim’s layout, so keeping it simple avoids conflicts.

Modders Resource

Alongside this mod, you’ll also find a modders resource that allows you to create your own chargen mod. For using the modders resource, just open the "__YourChargen" script, which has some basic instructions for you to follow. It only allows for non-Nerevarine characters, but you can clean out the changes made to the Dagoth Ur script and greetings should you wish.

In the spirit of encouraging more alternative start mods, the permissions for this one are completely open, including for the main mod itself. You don’t need permission, nor do you need to give credit. Use it however you wish.
