📋 About This Mod

An ambitious quest mod intended for mid-game (OPENMW ONLY). Meet peculiar mages, discover an ancient language, and rewrite reality - learning a few lessons along the way.

A WORD FOR ETERNITY

A man with a plan to reshape reality. A scholarly venture for lost books. And you, the wayward soul running an errand. Discover an ancient power lacing the threads of reality - a power that once unmade belief, and could potentially unmake the world.

- A brief but passion-filled questline with odd characters, puzzles(?), gross misinterpretations of Elder Scrolls lore, and the trappings of emergent gameplay.

- A highly conceptual core theme, allowing you to see some pretty cool handmade set pieces and some worthwhile retextures, most pulled from my real actual dreams.

- Loot, rewards, character development, questionable jokes.

- Hours of blood, sweat, and tears, and headaches.

- Literary allusions.

Why should I play?

Because I worked so hard on it :) and it takes you to unique locations and I think that's still fairly novel in Elder Scrolls modding.

Requirements?

OpenMW and decent specs. You'll get some visual differences depending on your shaders/settings/etc. but it should work fine as long as your view distance is high. MWSE users may attempt, but you will likely crash somewhere.

How do I start?

Find a dunmer with a funny-looking hat in the Library of Vivec. This is not an early-game quest.

I'm quitting development upon releasing this, and because of that, I hesitate to endorse this mod. Some of this mod's development was rather messy, and I only got a good workflow going for the last third of development. Then I left for a month, and rushed to finish it over a weekend.

The story was basically already written by the time I started working in the CS, and it turned out to be a puzzle that may not be completely put together. Think of it like Inception melded with various little inspirations, some more prominent than others. All of this plays out across some fun set pieces and some fun gameplay twists that will make you go "huh." A major amount of ideas were still cut just so I could have something to show the world. I hope it's at least somewhat amusing.

Sunk cost fallacy is real, but there is no shame in learning from our mistakes. Your character will be rewarded, and you might resonate with a thing or two, but I don't blame you for simply not playing or not enjoying. Solo modding is harder than I foresaw.
