🌙 WHAT IS NIGHTFALL?

Nightfall changes the way darkness and artificial light behave throughout Moonlight Peaks.

Instead of covering the world with the same bright purple moonlight all night, Nightfall smoothly dims the environment from dusk until dawn. Lanterns, windows, candles, glowing plants and bioluminescent water are allowed to become the lights that actually matter.

The result is a darker, moodier world that still feels cozy, readable and unmistakably Moonlight Peaks.

No harsh switch is thrown when night begins. The effect gently builds after dusk, reaches its full strength during the night and fades naturally as morning approaches.

🌘 Real Darkness at Night

Moonlight and ambient lighting are dimmed on a smooth dusk-to-dawn curve.

Night feels meaningfully different from day without suddenly snapping the entire world into darkness.

🏮 Lanterns, Candles and Windows Matter

Artificial lights become the warm little islands of visibility they were always meant to be.

Lantern brightness and reach can be adjusted separately, letting you choose between gentle pools of light or brighter paths through the darkness.

🌿 Glowing Plants Shine Brighter

Glowing flowers, magical plants and other emissive decorations become more visible as the surrounding world grows quieter.

Their brightness can be tuned independently from ordinary lanterns.

💧 Bioluminescent Water Comes Alive

The darker surroundings allow Moonlight Peaks’ naturally glowing water and magical effects to stand out instead of being washed away by the ambient moonlight.

🌙 Cool Moonlight Tint

Whatever moonlight remains can be gently pulled toward a cooler blue tone.

Raise the setting for a colder nocturnal atmosphere or lower it to preserve more of the game’s original purple coloring.

🏠 Automatic Indoor Softening

Nightfall recognizes when you enter rooms illuminated by their own lamps and softens the darkness automatically.

Interiors remain much closer to their normal appearance, so your cozy home does not suddenly become an unlit crypt—unless you decorate it like one on purpose.

🪞 YOUR CHARACTER IN THE DARK

A genuinely dark world is lovely until your character disappears into it.

Nightfall includes its own portrait-style character lighting so she remains visible without needing to brighten the entire environment.

👤 Face Light

Adds a soft light to your character’s skin so her face and expression still read clearly at night.

🔥 Face Warmth

Choose the tone of that light.

Keep it cool for silvery moonlight, warm it toward a nearby lantern glow or blend the two together, or make your character a glowing beacon.

✨ Stable Brightness

Character brightness is handled separately from world dimming.

Changing the darkness sliders will not suddenly make her face too bright or too dark, and the effect remains steadier when walking through doors and transitioning between spaces.

🫧 Spread

Controls how broadly the character light reaches around her.

Keep it close and subtle or let it soften a slightly wider area.
