📋 About This Mod
What This Mod Does
Fuck Your Dithering removes many of Monster Hunter Wilds’ distracting dithered transparency, fading, and stippled rendering effects.
It can independently:
-
[]Disable world and scenery dithering on grass, trees, rocks, walls, and environmental props.[/]
[]Allow normal scenery fading during combat while keeping it disabled elsewhere.[/]
[]Disable transparency fading on NPCs and small animals.[/]
[]Disable transparency fading on large monsters.[/]
[]Keep characters and objects visible when the camera gets close or enters a tight space.[/]
[]Disable dithered player and NPC hair rendering.[/]
[]Disable Seikret feather dithering.[/]
[]Remove the floating/dithered appearance from Seikret plumes.[/]
[]Reduce dithered fur on Palicoes, endemic life, clothing, and other fur-covered models.[/]
[]Remove dithering from supported waterfalls.[/]
[]Remove the heavily stippled border used to blend directional shadows.[/]
[]Remove dithered gathering-point surface highlights while keeping the scoutflies visible.[/]
Hair, Fur, and Plume Controls
Fur and Seikret plume rendering use alpha cutoffs rather than a simple on/off dither flag. The mod provides configurable sliders for both.
-
[]Default:
0. 2[/
][]Minimum:
0. 001[/]
[]Lower values generally produce fuller or puffier fur.[/]
[]Higher values produce thinner fur.[/]
0. 2provides the most natural-looking result in testing.
Performance
World materials are processed incrementally to avoid the periodic CPU spikes caused by scanning thousands of meshes at once.
The in-game Meshes per frame option controls how quickly fixes are applied:
-
[]Default:
150[/
][]Range:
25–500[/]
[]Higher values apply material fixes faster but use more CPU per frame.[/]
[]Lower values are suitable for slower CPUs or heavily CPU-limited setups.[/]
Installation
-
[]Install a current nightly build of REFramework for Monster Hunter Wilds.[/]
[]Extract the mod archive into the main
MonsterHunterWildsdirectory.[/]
[]Confirm that the resulting files include:[/]
└─ reframework/
└─ autorun/
├─ FuckYourDithering.lua
└─ FuckYourDithering/
├─ components/
├─ config.lua
├─ context.lua
