No More Slap On Weapons

Tired of MHW's slap on weapons?

This mod replaces every weapon part in the game with a unique weapon.

• []Monsters that had weapons in past games have their original weapons restored.

  []Monsters that never had a unique weapon have new ones created by retexturing and editing old weapons, or made from other models in MHW.

  []Monsters that have both a slap on part and a unique weapon have had the slap on replaced with a random joke or fan favorite weapon from past games.

  []Lunastra weapons have been replaced with her original weapons from past games/modified Teostra weapons to match her original theme.

New to the 2. 0 update, this mod now features total weapon tree compatibility, and custom names for every weapon.

This mod comes in two different versions.

Each has it's own benefits and drawbacks. Choose the ONE that best suits your needs.

Installing both could lead to less than desirable results.

Weapon Tree Version

Use this version if you want to play through the game with more weapon variety, or just don’t have layered weapons unlocked.

Using Aradi147’s Weapon Transmog Tool, I have created a new version of the mod optimized for people who want to use this mod before Iceborne’s endgame.

Pros:

-This technique allows the weapons to have substantially more detail.

There are too many small improvements to list here (you can find a full list of the ones I could remember in the readme), so here are a few noteworthy ones.

• []Custom sheathed positions to reduce clipping into the hunter’s model

  []Animations when charging Great Swords

  []Bowgun bow arms fold in when sheathed

  []Gunlances have parts that light up or move after Wyvern’s Fire is used

  []Custom weapons for every Lunastra combination

  []Additional details for every single weapon class

  -This version does not require replacing anything or making anything invisible

  You even get to keep the slap on parts. This version follows Capcom's vision of having weapons be slap ons in low rank which become unique in high rank. I got some angry messages from people who were big fans of this idea, so here's the version for you.

  -This version works as one file and does not require add ons.

  This version has the adjusted weapon tree and custom names packed into the file, and only requires you to download the one main file.

  Cons:

  -The weapons in this version have no sound effects.

  There is no fixing this, MHW is extremely restrictive with how sound effects are used, how long they can be, and what can play what sounds. All of the sound parameters are locked in the .exe, meaning they cannot be changed at all. It’s not as bad as it sounds, lots of actions do still have some sounds, but things like sheathing will be silent. If you’re looking to play through the game with this mod, try this version first, and if you just can’t get past the lack of sounds, try the other version.
