📋 About This Mod
Gives Snake D-Dog-like auto-marking, detecting nearby targets and removing markers when they move out of range.
Description
Quite a few players probably use D-Dog as their buddy most of the time.
In fact, I used him so much that my D-Dog eventually needed some rest.
The problem was that I still wanted his detection ability.
Whether I was riding D-Horse, using Quiet, or bringing another buddy, infiltration was simply much easier with D-Dog's ability to detect and mark nearby enemies.
Then something happened.
In a world where someone thought vocal cord parasites were a perfectly reasonable idea, apparently someone also managed to create a radioactive snake.
Snake was bitten by it.
As a result, Snake somehow gained the senses of a snake and became able to detect nearby living targets.
This mod gives Snake a pseudo D-Dog-style auto-marking ability.
Depending on the version you install, Snake will automatically detect and mark nearby targets within 140m, 150m, 160m, or 120m.
The 140m, 150m and 160m versions remove markers when targets move beyond the same detection distance.
The 120m version behaves more like D-Dog: targets are detected within 120m, but their markers remain until they move beyond approximately 200m.
The purpose of this mod is to give Snake a simplified version of D-Dog's detection ability so that other buddies can be used more freely without completely giving up automatic enemy detection.
Version 2. 0 removes some unnecessary target handling from the original implementation and introduces separate Skulls-compatible versions.
The standard versions intentionally do not include Skulls-specific or special boss-specific processing.
This keeps the normal auto-marking logic as simple as possible.
Separate Skulls-compatible versions are available for players who want additional support for male Skulls, female Sniper Skulls, and Man on Fire.
Standalone and Infinite Heaven-compatible versions are both available.Available versions

Standard versions
The standard versions use the normal Snake Sense target detection logic and do not include special processing for Skulls or other special boss targets.
These versions are recommended if you want the simplest implementation.
Skulls-compatible versions
Skulls behave differently from normal human targets and require separate marking routines.
The Skulls-compatible versions add this special processing while keeping the normal Snake Sense behavior for other supported targets.
Male Skulls and female Sniper Skulls use different game-side behavior, so they are handled separately.
The Skulls-compatible versions also include special support for Man on Fire, who similarly requires a dedicated marking routine rather than the normal Snake Sense target handling.
Because these special targets do not provide position and marking information in the same way as normal targets, their dedicated routines do not always use the normal Snake Sense distance check.
When these targets are active, the compatible version repeatedly applies their markers where necessary in order to keep them detected.
Some special targets may also remain unmarkable during scripted phases in which the base game itself does not allow manual marking.
If you do not need Skulls or Man on Fire detection, use the Standard version.Infinite Heaven version
Infinite Heaven-compatible versions are also available.
Unlike the standalone version, the IH version does not replace
TppMain.luaInstead, Snake Sense runs as an Infinite Heaven module in order to avoid conflicting with IH's own files.
Both Standard and Skulls-compatible IH versions are available with the same range options:
