Box Shower - Standalone

Description

Until now, if I wanted to clean Venom Snake freely while moving around, I had to rely on Infinite Heaven.

However, I prefer playing with standalone mods whenever possible, so dirt and blood caused by taking damage could only be removed in a limited number of ways.

I wanted a more convenient standalone cleaning method that did not depend on a specific location or external framework. After experimenting with the game's player status functions, I found a way to trigger the cleaning effect simply by entering any cardboard box, which led to this mod.

In short, all cardboard boxes now work as portable showers.

I have also added two new versions based on the fly-prevention system developed for my other mod:

These new versions combine Box Shower's portable cleaning function with permanent fly prevention.

In other words, Snake can wash off blood and dirt simply by entering a cardboard box while also preventing flies and their buzzing sound from returning through normal time progression.Available versions

This mod includes six versions with different cleaning and fly-prevention effects:

  Removes dirt and blood and also applies the same cleaning effect as being washed at Mother Base. [/]

  []Minimal Cleaning

  Removes dirt and blood, but does not provide the full cleaning effect of being washed at Mother Base. Flies will not appear immediately, but may begin to appear again after enough in-game time has passed. [/]

  []Filthy Edition

  Removes dirt and blood, but keeps the fly mechanic active. This version is intended for players who do not mind the flies or who prefer to keep that mechanic unchanged. [/]

  []Filthy Edition 6days

  Removes dirt and blood, but keeps the fly mechanic active. Unlike the standard Filthy Edition, Snake's elapsed time away from Mother Base is set to roughly six in-game days.

  This places him near an earlier fly state rather than resetting the timer completely. Some players have suggested that the buzzing may be less intense at this stage, but I personally could not clearly tell the difference.[/]

  []Box Shower - Insect Repellent Shower - Minimum

  Combines Box Shower with the fly-prevention system from Snake Finally Got Rid of the Flies.

  Entering any cardboard box removes dirt and blood, while Snake's elapsed time away from Mother Base is capped at three in-game days.

  Time can still progress normally up to that point, but it cannot advance into the later fly states. This prevents flies and their buzzing sound from appearing through normal time progression.[/]

  []Box Shower - Insect Repellent Shower - Perfect

  Combines Box Shower with the strongest fly-prevention version from Snake Finally Got Rid of the Flies.

  Entering any cardboard box removes dirt and blood, while Snake's elapsed time away from Mother Base is continuously kept at zero.

  This prevents progression through the elapsed-time states associated with flies and effectively gives Snake permanent insect repellent while still allowing blood and dirt to be removed whenever you enter a cardboard box.[/]

The two Insect Repellent Shower versions do not directly remove the fly visual effect or mute the buzzing sound.

Instead, they prevent the underlying elapsed-time state from progressing far enough for the game to generate the flies in the first place.

The standalone No Flies mod intentionally leaves blood, mud, and other dirt untouched.

These Box Shower versions were created for players who want both systems at the same time:

portable cardboard-box cleaning + permanent fly prevention.

As an additional side effect, the fly effect and buzzing inside dumpsters may also disappear while using the fly-prevention system.How it works
