Raiden Over DLC Sam

It always bothered me that DLC Sam, in gameplay, is like the most magical-looking character in the game. Not only does it not match neither the boss or the cutscenes, it just isn't appropriate for a character whose famous schtick is being a mostly-unmodified human.

But those effects are still really pretty. So I wondered what it'd look like if they belonged to Raiden, a character who's already ridiculously magical, with his cutting-edge cyborg body and crazy electrical effects. This mod tries to completely convert DLC Sam into Raiden, but without changing how the game plays. Some Sam effects remain, specifically the ones that are very Raiden-y. Raiden uses the Murasama — maybe it's like epilogue Raiden??

3 costumes are available: default Raiden custom body, my epilogue suit mod, and my "epilogue cyborg body" mod. Included with each download are files for Metal Gear Ray and Armstrong: in vanilla, those files contain Sam face animations, and using a Raiden mod at the same time causes really cursed results. Those files will fix it.

GrandWyrm made an update to this mod with some quality-of-life changes: mission subtitles no longer say "Sam," a couple extra metal bits were removed from Raiden's legs, Raiden's hair now has physics, and the Murasama sheath arm has been recolored to match Raiden's color palette, and edited a tiny bit to make it look like it's actually attached to Raiden.

I have not tested GrandWyrm's files and I probably wouldn't even like the leg edit, BUT this is their earnest attempt at an update and it's really cool that they went through the effort. I'm uploading GrandWyrm's version under "optional files," because I'm too lazy to test the mod and combine it with the """official""" version. Heck, I didn't even edit the file structure. Anyway, enjoy!
