This mod has been updated to work with the latest game update. Special thanks to SankaraSamsara who updated the mod and provided the file to me for the update.
This mod only changes a single tiny game asset. While minor, I thought that some people would appreciate it. Personally I feel that this portrait is more mature and shows Ryana's age and battlefield experience. If you read the MW5 Origins novellas, you'll be aware that Ryana should be relatively old by the start of the game in MechWarrior 5 and has had significant experience as a MechWarrior. This is not reflected in the stock game portrait, which I feel was made younger and "friendlier" looking for some reason.
SankaraSamsara's mod to add Ryana's beret goes perfectly with this mod! You can find it here: https://www.nexusmods.com/mechwarrior5mercenaries/mods/239. This, coupled with her updated portrait, also shows some of her Scottish background. SankaraSamsara has an alternate mod that adds Ryana's beret and also changes the headwear for other characters on the Leopard to make it more lively looking. I definitely recommend it. Simply download the files for this mod and place the folder into the MW5Mercs/Mods folder where you have the game installed. You can select the mod from
the "Mods" menu in MW5.

This UI mod replaces Ryana's portrait with the original version seen in older gameplay videos like the MechCon 2018 demo, giving her a more commander-like appearance. It's a simple cosmetic change with no known conflicts, suitable for players who prefer the classic look.
