📋 About This Mod
Press F9 at the forge and Henry forges the piece himself, stroke by stroke: heating, bellows, hammering in rhythm, flipping, reheating and quench - all through the game's own forge actions, nothing skipped.
Theatrical AutoForge
Press F9 at the forge and Henry makes the piece himself - stroke by stroke, while you watch. The mod plays the blacksmithing minigame through the game's own forge actions: it heats the piece zone by zone with the bellows, keeps the fire below the point where the metal burns, carries it to the anvil, hammers in time with the forge music, flips it when one side is worked out, reheats when it cools, and hands it over for the quench. Nothing is skipped or completed instantly.
This is one of our first mods for Kingdom Come: Deliverance II. It has only been tested on one setup, so there are bound to be issues we have not run into yet. Bug reports (with the log - see below) are very welcome.
Features
-
[]Full forging cycle: heating, bellows, anvil work, flipping, reheating and quench[/]
[]Hammers in rhythm with the forge music, as the minigame rewards[/]
[]Tested results around 0. 97-0. 99 quality (sword, long sword, axe, mace, horseshoe)[/]
[]F9 to start or stop at any time; key configurable in an .ini file[/]
[]Update-safe: if a game update changes the code it relies on, the mod switches itself off instead of breaking your game[/]
Requirements
-
[]Kingdom Come Script Extender (KCSE) by JerryYOJ[/]
[]Address Library For KCSE by JerryYOJ (required by KCSE)[/]
Installation
Vortex: install as usual.
Manual: copy the theatrical_autoforge folder from the archive into <game>\Mods\ - you should end up with Mods\theatrical_autoforge\KCSE\Plugins\kcd2_autoforge.dll.
Uninstall: delete that folder.
How to use
-
[]At a forge, choose a blueprint as usual and wait until Henry is standing at the forge (or anvil).[/]
[]Press F9. Press F9 again at any time to stop and take over by hand.[/]
[]When the piece is finished the game's own quench runs - check the result as usual.[/]
Settings
(Mods\theatrical_autoforge\KCSE\Plugins\kcd2_autoforge.ini)-
[]Forge=F9 - start/stop key[/]
[]DebugLog=0 - 1 = detailed log for bug reports[/]
Known issues and limitations
-
[]Only tested with the Steam version of the game (1. 5.x, build 15693).[/]
[]Items other than the ones listed above use the game's generic workpiece and should work, but are untested.[/]
[]After a missed stroke the next few may score slightly lower until the rhythm is re-established (as when forging by hand).[/]
[]If the forging is interrupted (you leave, open a menu, get attacked), the mod stops; press F9 again once Henry is back at the forge.[/]
[]Mods that change the blacksmithing minigame may not be compatible.[/]
Game updates
The mod does not rely on fixed memory addresses. At startup it locates the game code it needs by pattern and by class name. If an update changes that code, the mod disables itself and changes nothing - the game plays as vanilla and does not crash. The log will say "disabled: this game version is not supported yet"; check back here for an update.
Bug reports
Please attach kcd2_autoforge.log (next to the DLL, rewritten every session), ideally with DebugLog=1, and say what you were forging.
