📋 About This Mod
A simple mod for quick movement, in the best traditions of G1 and G2 mods. Press F3 to toggle acceleration on.
Description
A simple world acceleration for quick movement, in the best traditions of G1 and G2 mods. Press F3 to toggle acceleration on.
Press F3 to switch between normal speed (1×) and fast run (5×). The mod only changes how fast your character moves (walk, run, sprint, swim, jump). It does not speed up the whole world, day/night cycles, NPCs, or combat animations via global time dilation.
Uses the game’s own movement API (
AttributeSet_Movement. SpeedModifier), the same path as G1R_LevelProgression — not
SetGlobalTimeDilation.
Installation instructions
Manual Installation
-
[]Copy the
G1R_FastMovement folder to:
Gothic 1 Remake\G1R\Binaries\Win64\ue4ss\Mods\G1R_FastMovement\
Example (Steam):
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Gothic 1 Remake\G1R\Binaries\Win64\ue4ss\Mods\G1R_FastMovement\
[]Ensure
enabled.txt in the mod folder contains
mods.txt in the
ue4ss\Mods\ folder and add:
G1R_FastMovement : 1[/
][]Disable conflicting mods in the same file:
G1R_FullGameSpeed : 0
TimeControl Mod : 0[/]
[]Fully restart the game (not just Ctrl+R) after first install.[/]
[]Check
G1R\Binaries\Win64\UE4SS.log — you should see:
G1R_FastMovement v1. 2. 0] loaded — F3 = toggle 1. 0x / 5. 0x[/]
Controls
Toggle speed: 1× ↔ 5×
No separate reset key and no console command — F3 is the only control.
Presets (F3):
Toggle: 1. 0× (normal) ↔ 5. 0× (fast run)
Configuration
Settings in
Scripts\config.lua
Notes
-
[]Speed is re-applied in the background (every 200 ms) so it sticks after swim, climb, sprint, equip changes, and map loads.[/]
[]Does not use global time dilation — combat, NPCs, and day/night stay at normal speed.[/]
[]5× is the practical maximum for movement in G1R; higher values do not feel faster.[/]
[]Disable G1R_FullGameSpeed — it uses a different mechanism and can conflict or crash on travel.[/]
[]If you use G1R_LevelProgression, do not run both with different speed settings — they write the same attribute.[/]
Structure
G1R_FastMovement/
enabled.txt
movement.lua
keybinds.lua
Main features
-
[]F3 toggle — switch between normal (1×) and fast run (5×)[/]
[]Movement only — no world-wide time acceleration[/]
[]Stable re-apply — speed persists through climb, swim, sprint, and travel[/]
[]Minimal config — two presets with labels and descriptions, one keybind[/]
Requirements
-
[]UE4SS installed and working in Gothic 1 Remake[/]
[]ConsoleEnablerMod — not required (no console commands)[/]
Shout outs
Inspired by classic Gothic speed mods and the G1R modding community (G1R_LevelProgression, UE4SS docs).
