📋 About This Mod
An upgrade to the basic infirmary with an attached new role.Balances itself by nerfing the basic infirmary, but allowing it to be built earlier.
Description
Adds in a new tier of Medical Room, the Apothecary.
During Medieval times, large towns were often reliant on the local Apothecary for cures and treatment.
While the craft was usually intertwined with superstition, many of the herbal remedies one may have received from these specialists still work today!(Think ginger for upset stomachs)
This mod seeks to reintroduce this early field of medicine into the game starting with the introduction of a new room; The Apothecary.
An infirmary may be do for treating the masses of simpler ailments, but more advanced care requires individualized treatment under the watchful eye of a specialist.
The new Apothecary room allows for faster healing and better care via boosts to the following
-Faster HP Recover(Twice as good at the original infirmary)
-Faster Tending Speed(Again twice as good at the original infirmary)
-Better Tending Quality(No longer provided in the infirmary)
-Faster Wound Recovery(No longer provided in the infirmary)
It also acts as a quiet place for the creation of healing aids, providing a boost to Apothecary Benches beyond what you find in a simple workshop.
The Apothecary also serves as the home base for a brand new role; The Apothecary
(Yes, an Apothecary(Person) really does work inside of an Apothecary(Building), don't blame me for ye olde English).
This new specialist has devoted themselves to the healing arts and taken up the Hippocratic oath.
While they gain a distinct aversion for combat and the lesser arts, you will find no one more passionate about the crafting and administering of medicinal treatments.
With an Apothecary in the room, all of the healing benefits mentioned above are further boosted.
You will also notice a increase in the crafting speed of various medical supplies.
Unique to this mod, in order to assign the role of apothecary to a villager they will need to be assigned to the doctors bed in the Apothecary room.
The room will double as their living quarters so that they can keep an eye on their patients.
This mod represents my first major undertaking at Modding Going Medieval that has made it past the drawing board and into codified form.
Any feedback is greatly appreciated, especially when it comes to balance.
Planned features
-New structures for the apothecary tied to role levels.
-Unique models for said new constructables.
-Training for the medical skill
-Treatment of tainted items to prevent the need to always destroy them
-Branch Mod where the villager is not meant to live inside the room.

Main features
New room: The Apothecary. Any residents inside the room receive the following benefits
20% faster HP recovers Speed
20% Wound Recovery Speed
20% boost in Wound Tending Quality
20% shorter wound tending time
Changes to infirmary
Wound Tending Speed boost lowered from 10% -> 5%
HP Recovery Speed boost lowered from 10% -> 5%
Wound recovery speed bonus removed
Wound tending quality bonus removed
This essentially equals out to the original infirmary doing half as much half as well, with the new apothecary doing everything the old infirmary did twice as good.
To help balance this, you can build infirmaries as soon as you research infirmary beds, as this research will now also allow you to build simple medicine shelves.
1 simple medicine shelf + 1 infirmary bed = old infirmary.
You will be able to build the new apothecary room once you research chemistry 1, the original point you unlocked the infirmary via medicine shelves.
The apothecary has all the requirements of the old infirmary, along with the addition of needing the new Doctors Bed, also unlocked with chemistry 1.
