📋 About This Mod
I followed the example set by Rafi with their mod for Wildlands, which disabled various sound effects by extracting the game's .pck files to use the extracted .wav files as a reference for hex editing. As such, I was able to disable Breakpoint's hitmarker and headshot sound effects through a process of elimination.
Hitmarker sound effects were disabled in soundspc_sfx.pck by replacing the hex between soundspc_sfx_3144.wav and soundspc_sfx_3145.wav, as well as the hex for soundspc_sfx_3145.wav itself. Headshot sound effects were disabled in soundspc_sfx_wea_.pck by replacing the hex between soundspc_sfx_wea__5904.wav and soundspc_sfx_wea__5905.wav.
For version 2 I followed ystqhnlnrhtfgznorn's advice, which I've stickied in the posts tab.
As these sound effects were disabled in separate .pck files, the modified files can be used either independently or concurrently depending upon your preference. The modified files should be placed within your Ghost Recon Breakpoint/sounddata/pc folder after you have backed up the original game files.
