USS Massachusetts BB-2

Commissioned in 1896 as part of America's first batch of modern battleships--the Indiana class--she was primarily designed for coastal defence use, given the very low freeboard. To that end, she is not very quick, but she is very heavily armed and armored. At the outbreak of the Spanish-American War in 1898, she was part of the Flying Squadron. Said squadron sailed to support the blockade of all Cuban ports, specifically Santiago--however she was not present during the ensuing Battle, due to the need to load coal in Guantamo prior to the Spanish ships' attempt to run the blockade. She spent the remainder of the War bombarding shoe targets and support occupying forces. By the time of America's entry into WWI in 1917, she was already obsolete, and as such was placed in reserve and used as a training ship. She remained in this role until her decommissioning in 1920, where she was stripped and used as a target ship. Eventually, after difficulty finding a buyer for her scraps, she was scuttled off the coast of Florida, where her wreck is now an Underwater Preserve. - Complete Naval and Weapon AI - Top speed: 7. 5m/s - Engine Telegraph System ( TYUIO-Forward Speeds) (G- All stop) (HJ-Reverse speeds) (KL-Rudder) - 2 x 2, 330mm Turret - 4 x 2, 203mm Turret - 4 x 1, 152mm Cannon - 8 x 1, 76mm Cannon - 12 x 1, 56mm Cannon I totally didn't forget I had built this...not one bit--really though d332a's Indiana-class ( http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=620564184&searchtext= ) reminded me that I had never gotten around to publishing this, so I hope you enjoy! Looking back at this build, I dunno what I was thinking with the armaments, since its appearently a mix of what it had when built and it's subsequent modernizations. I'd update it, but the Dangerous Waters campaign stuff is taking up most of my time nowadays.
