RSCN - AFX-501 Praetorian A-1 Chasseur Pursuit Frigate

CRAFT STATS AT BOTTOM Constructed on the newly written Praetorian combat chassis, the AFX – 501 Praetorian A-1 Chasseur Pursuit Frigate was the first vessel mass produced using the new Praetorian GEN-2 Frigate pattern. Built using state of the art, experimental systems the praetorian Frigate line serve as mediatory test beds for new combat technology's, many of which were incorporated into future GEN-2 vessels in the modern RSCN. While these warships hold the AFX designation ( Arial Frigate Experimental) they are becoming a common sight in RSCN formations due to their exceptional performance despite their design immaturity. At a length of 107m, a width of 25 and height of 25m the Chasseur is considered large for a Frigate class vessel, compared to its predecessors. Built using advanced design principles in a modular fashion. This enables the vessels to be produced quickly and allowing for vessels half constructed to be altered mid design to fit other roles should the enemy's tactics change. It's airframe is decidedly more heavily armoured than its GEN-1 counterparts, sporting many advanced armouring features. These include a carapace like panelling arrangement along the Frigates bow and midsection, where the new and experimental systems are housed, with the rear of all Praetorian vessels remaining largely the same on all models and variants. This allows for large sections of armour and whole subsystems to be removed or replaced quickly and easily in dry dock drastically speeding up repair times and maintenance overhauls. To fill it's roll the AFX 501 A-1 Chasseur encompasses all newly designed offensive and defensive systems. Its main armament consists of two twin barrel RDR 250-X3 (Rail Driven Repeater) Cannons mounted spinally below the the vessels bow canopy.
