CRAFT STATS AT BOTTOM Designed as one of the first vessels for the Consortium by Syjin Aerospace in the year 63, the 417 was built in vast quantities originally as a habitable transport vessel for the consortiums many parent companies. The design marks a monumental step forward in the consortiums available technology bringing together many design standards that would be employed in later craft with great effect. The Kartusa is the first craft to be built with an advanced habitation system and an incredible degree of automation for a light warship. This was a foreseen design choice by Syjin as the large habitation system took up a huge portion of the hull meaning a maximum crew of 3 could safely operate the craft on the voyages between the vaults. with the various biomes of the world becoming more and more habitable the climate system on board is largely redundant and has been largely replaced with greater sensor systems, more advanced weapons emplacements & ammunition stores, however a few craft retain this system as to patrol the vast, uncleared plains or as Chemical or Biological warfare combatants. Originally conceived as a cargo vessel the 417's hull frame is very lightly armoured and is missing many of the design elements unanimous with later RSCN warships. Its “bolted together” appearance makes it an unpopular assignment for younger airmen leaving the average crew age far higher amongst Kartusa flight crews. This is not without merit however with the older crews vast experience & knowledge enables them to use the frigate more tactically in fleet engagement making them vastly more useful in the many roles undertaken. The current standard weapons load out of the Kartusa frigates is surprisingly formidable and diverse for such a light warship, sacrificing overall armour and protection for speed and raw DPS.
