CRAFT STATS AT BOTTOM The ALC 121 Dewalt Escort Cruiser. Designed as a direct result of the growing threats to RCS trade routes post Year 83, the Dewalt class is one of the first vessels of the consortium specifically designed for war. While the original ancient design pattern has long since been lost under a myriad of redesigns & alterations the base model Dewalt's multi roll design concept is a reflection of the consortiums main combat doctrine seen in most light warships of the RSCN. Its squat and almost boxy frame, very reminiscent of Consortium warships, boasts a heavy degree of adaptability within its standard weapons load out as well as interchangeable hard point to counter other threats should a situation require. Its standard load out consists of may weapons found on other Consortium weapons platforms, including 3x reliable SCARS 20mm CIWS's turrets, two Browler Variable Broadside Pounders as well as several new weapons that would become standard point defence systems on many future capital ships. Design innovation was a key part of the designers through process. Many “first use” systems would be tested & worked in to the Dewalts design. One of these such systems was a redundant steam propulsion system known as EMS (Emergency Manoeuvring System), able to supply supplementary stabilisation to the craft if rammed or primary stabilisers were to become disabled. Despite this systems promise it has to draw its steam from the Vessels turbine power system, leaving some weapons restricted or unable to function while it is in use. As such this system is used only in the direst of scenarios as many captains & crew prefer to go down in fire rather than limp home in defeat.
