Being one of the first patterns in the GEN-2 program most vessels derived from the Praetorian pattern play host to advanced and finely tuned sub systems making the small frames of the Praetorian line some of the most cost effective units on the modern battlefield. At a length of 107m, a width of 25 and height of 22m, the canvasbacks frame is sturdy and imposing. Being similar in size to many previous generation cruisers and destroyers, while only holding a frigate designation, due to the changing demands of warfare. It's airframe is decidedly more heavily armoured than its GEN 1 counterparts, sporting many advanced armouring features. These include a carapace like panelling arrangement along the Frigates bow and midsection. Allowing for large sections of armour to be removed or replaced quickly and easily in dry dock, vastly simplifying and shortening repair and refit times allowing for a fast turn around in times of conflict, freeing up vital yard space for new vessel construction. The Canvas back is by far the most specialised front line combat vessel derived from the Praetorian Pattern. Designed to fill a role that had been so often overlooked by military officials since the spheres of combat overlap was not a commonly perceived problem for the predominantly land locked RSC throughout its early years. To fill it's roll the A-2 carries a unique arsenal of weapons, specifically calibrated for anti-submarine operations. Its primary armament is a pair of HH-20-44b 2000mm rifled Payload Cannons, mounted spinally on the vessel's bow.
