Expanded Date Cutscenes for Celine

Description

This mod is mainly inspired by Rune Factory 4's dating mechanics, a part of the game that I find to be rather in-depth. Fields of Mistria's dating mechanics are quite similar, with the ability to invite candidates out to different locations... but I must admit, I was hoping there'd be more to them! Similar to Rune Factory 4, I was expecting there to be some kind of conversation during the dates. That was when I started to imagine what different bachelors and bachelorettes would say during these dates, how they would react to the player, and what kinds of conversations they would have together... and eventually I thought "Well, why not make this an actual thing?"

Each date location now has its own unique cutscene, with new dialogue and interactions between Celine and the player meant to make each date feel a little more personal and meaningful. I wanted each cutscene to have its own "theme" and give Celine a chance to talk about things that I feel are relevant to her character, while also giving the player more opportunities to interact with her and see their relationship develop further. My hope is that, with everything I've written, these cutscenes give the player a chance to see more of Celine beyond what we already learn about her through her heart events and everyday dialogue, even if only a little bit.

This mod uses a modified version of Crys' framework for custom date cutscenes, which can be found here. Credit and thanks to them for providing their framework in the first place and kindly allowing me to build upon it. Please make sure to check out more of their amazing work!

Requirements and Installation

1. Download the latest release of Mods of Mistria Installer (MOMI) here.

2. After downloading the ModsofMistriaInstaller.exe file, transfer it to your Fields of Mistria folder. (You can easily find this folder by right-clicking on Fields of Mistria inside Steam -> Manage -> Browse local files.)

3. Download the latest version of this mod in the Files tab.

4. Extract the .zip file into the mods folder in your Fields of Mistria folder. (If you don't already have a mods folder, you can make one!)

5. When you run MOMI, it should be able to detect the mods. Be sure to check off "Expanded Date Cutscenes for Celine" and then install.

Do you plan on making a similar mod for the other candidates?

I do! However, because coming up with ideas and writing dialogue (as well as making additional portraits for the Bathhouse Date) take a lot of time and effort, it will be quite some time until I am able to release a mod for all candidates. This is a long-term project that I am rather passionate about though, so you can absolutely expect to see more mods like this from me in the near future!

If you're curious about what's next, I'll be focusing on writing the dates for March next. This will be followed by another bachelorette, then another bachelor, and so-on. I'm excited to work on expanding these cutscenes for the other candidates, so if you enjoy this mod or even just the idea of it, then please look forward to future releases for other characters!
