📋 About This Mod
Adds elements of realistic survival to Fallout 3: combat is significantly more lethal, and your character requires food, water, and sleep. Either module can be used independently.
Update 9/9/09: Fixed a bug where the Zeta module caused certain foods to stop working. Added compatibility module for MMMF3. ---Latest Release Notes--- Survival of the Fittest has been revised considerably since the last release. The following is a list of changes between v. 85 and the current version: -The radiation issue has been resolved; accumulation of rads works as in the vanilla version, and the faulty code - intended to allow you to slowly recover from radiation naturally - now works as intended. -Injuries and penalties from hunger/thirst/fatigue are now handled as effects rather than as perks. -Needs-per-day have been tweaked; you will no longer need to sleep nearly so much. -Pictures have been added for all new items and perks, though Bandages still do not have a world model. -Creatures, particularly robots, have been given increased damage reduction. -The Broken Steel compatibility module now works as intended; Aqua Pura serves needs. -Bottles may be refilled from any water source. -Special injuries have been altered; certain weapons are now more or less likely to cause such injuries. -Stimulant \"crash\" now does less damage to your fatigue level, but slightly affects thirst. -RadAway has been slightly improved. -Braces, blood, and tubing have been added to doctors\' vendor lists. -Sneak-attack criticals have been nerfed. -Mothership Zeta compatibility module has been added. ---Future Plans--- I plan to add MMMF3 compatibility soon, and once FOOK2 is out of beta I will support it as well. ---Please Note--- To use any of the compatibility modules, you must activate both the Needs and Injuries modules. =========== | Installation | =========== ---Fresh Install--- Simply copy the included files to your Fallout 3/Data folder and activate the .esm\'s anywhere in the load order. If you are using the optional DLC compatibility modules, be sure to activate them after the new .esm files. ---Upgrade--- Please remove all existing \"perks\" by fully satisfying your needs, then overwrite your existing .esp and .esm files with the updated versions. Finally, type \'player.removeperk xx00E40F\' into the console (where xx is the load order of the Needs module) so that the bottle refill code works properly. ============= | Uninstallation | ============= First, you will need to type the following into the console: \'player.removeperk xx00E40F\' where xx is the load order number of the Needs module. If you have Efficient Metabolism, remove it by typing player.removeperk xx003DA7. Finally, remove the files from the load order, then delete them. ========= | Readme | ========= \"After playing Fallout 3, I was looking forward to a real-life nuclear war. Who wouldn\'t want to live a carefree life roaming the wasteland, shooting anything that moves and stealing anything that doesn\'t? But then along came that jerk Kentington and turned post-nuclear life int
