📋 About This Mod
THIS MOD DOES NOT GIVE YOU AN ADVANTAGE, AND IS NOT A CHEAT. PLEASE WATCH THE VIDEO FOR MORE INFORMATION.
Tired of flicking the switch on the laser rifle, spinning the chamber on the . 44, pulling the slide on the the 10mm, EVERY time you draw them, usually when you need them to come out at their quickest?
Well, here's a mod that covers ALL weapons in the game so that they all use their EquipFast animations in place of their normal equip animations.
If this sounds familiar, that's because this is the Fallout 76 edition of my Fallout 4 mod, Quick Draw. However, this version works how the Fallout 4 version used to work, as in it replaces the normal equip animation files directly with the EquipFast animations instead of editing the GunBehavior.hkx file, as that currently isn't possible for 76's files. This means that it's not compatible with custom weapons, but given Fallout 76 is an online game, there probably aren't going to be any custom weapons, at least for a while.
Except this time, this is less about the extended draw animations preventing you from shooting (because you can shoot out of them at any time), and more about the extended draw animations whipping around your camera, messing up your aim so you basically have to wait for it to finish anyway if you don't want to waste a shot.
Additionally, these extended draw animations actually prevent you from reloading sooner, but only in 1st-person, as there are no extended draw animations in 3rd-person. So technically, this is also a bug/consistency fix.
Anyway, here's the preview video, since this mod IS about animations and whatnot.

To install, first create a "Fallout76Custom.ini" in the following directory (if you don't already have one):
C:\Users\Username\Documents\My Games\Fallout 76\
Then, put the following lines in the Fallout76Custom.ini:
sResourceArchive2List = QuickDraw76.ba2,
or, if you have multiple mods:
sResourceArchive2List = ExampleMod1.ba2, ExampleMod2.ba2, QuickDraw76.ba2,
then, simply place "QuickDraw76.ba2" in your Fallout 76 data directory, which by default is:
C:\BethesdaDotNet\Bethesda.net Launcher\games\Fallout76\Data\
or, if you have the game on Steam:
C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout76\Data\
Quick Draw 76 replaces all weapon draw animations in Fallout 76 with their faster EquipFast variants, reducing camera movement and allowing quicker reloads. It's a quality-of-life fix, not a cheat, with 204 endorsements and 6,947 downloads. Requires manual INI setup.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community-approved with 204 endorsements and nearly 7k downloads.
- Solves a real annoyance—camera whip and reload delay—without giving a gameplay advantage.
- Works across all weapons, so you don't need separate mods for each gun.
⚠️ Cons
- Requires manual INI file editing, which might intimidate less technical players.
- Not compatible with custom weapons, though that's a non-issue for now.
- No video link or detailed install steps beyond the INI lines—you'll need to figure out the rest.
For Fallout 76 players who hate the slow, camera-swinging draw animations that mess up aim and delay reloads. If you want a smoother, more responsive feel without any cheat-like advantages, this is for you. Skip if you're fine with vanilla animations or prefer mods that add new weapons.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure you create the Fallout76Custom.ini in the correct folder (Documents\My Games\Fallout 76) and add the lines exactly as shown.
- Since this is an online game, ensure you're not violating any rules—this mod is purely cosmetic and doesn't give an advantage, so it should be safe.
- If you're using a mod manager, you might still need to manually edit the INI; check the mod's forum for any updates or user tips.
