Steyr AUG A3 - Modular Assault Rifle - VR Position Fix + FO4VR CTD FIX
This is a VR fix for the Steyr AUG A3 - Modular Assault Rifle: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/43419
The weapon mod IS REQUIRED FOR THIS FIX TO WORK
Features of this mod fix:
-
[] Since the last Creation kit (CK) update the header was updated to 1. 0 instead of 0. 95. This changes the header for the mod to work in FO4VR.
[] Do you also hate that some weapon mods crash your game?
Still better than the game crashing randomly when the weapon spawns on NPCs or you the player modding the weapon at the weapon bench.)
The scopes removed because they caused CTD are:
-
[]Bravo4
[
]aug1 optical sight[]trijicon x6 accuPower
[]Bender_10x Schmidt and bender pmII 10x
Just place this after\overwrite the weapon mod in load order.
Question: Does this require Fallout 4 VR?
Answer: No, but this position issue happens only in Fallout 4 VR, so I see no reason to use this mod if you are not using Fallout 4 VR. More than that, it might not work in older Fallout 4 since the VR version is a fork of an older version and Bethesda abandon their products and are too lazy to update the VR version.
Question: This mod fix is conflicting with the base mod!
Answer: Yes, this mod should replace the main base mod esp file. Either overwrite\replace the file completely or put it after the base mod in your mod manager (MO2, Vortex).
Question: I downloaded more than one of your VR fixes and they conflict! A file named DummyReciever_1stPerson.nif appears in all of them, do they conflict with each other?
Answer: No. It's the same exact file. So if it asks you to overwrite it, do it.
This is a small VR-specific fix for the Steyr AUG A3 weapon mod, correcting the grip position so the rifle is held properly in Fallout 4 VR. It also includes a CTD fix for FO4VR. With 49 endorsements and 16,902 downloads, it's a niche but useful patch for VR players using that weapon mod.

⚠️ Cons

For Fallout 4 VR players who use the Steyr AUG A3 weapon mod and want proper grip positioning and fewer crashes. Skip this if you don't use that specific weapon mod or play on flat screen.
