Gas Mask Hotkeys

Description

I often run PC playthroughs with the Gas Masks of the Wasteland mod installed, but it doesn't have hotkeys for some of the most common actions required in the mod like equipping/unequipping your gas mask, wiping it, changing its filter, and repairing it when it is damaged.  You can use the keys 0-9, dash, equals hotkeys or install a more comprehensive hotkey mod but I wanted to save my keys for weapons/chems and was looking for a lighter mod.

So I made two mods:

One mod (1.x) is hardly a mod.  It consists of 3 files:

• []An empty ESL plugin file. I literally changed nothing. It is just a placeholder.

  []An MCM config file defining 4 (as of v1. 1) hotkeys for: Gas Mask Wipe, Fast Filter Replace, Repair Kit, and Repair Menu

  []An MCM keybinding file that for each hotkey performs the console command: PlayerID.equipitem ID where ID is the ID of the Gas Mask feature

  Leave it to the community to come up with great ideas and having support for equipping/unequipping the last gas mask used is one of them.  So I made another version of the mod (2.x) which needed some Papyrus script code to work properly.  It consists of:

  • []An ESL plugin file that contains 1 Quest with 1 script plus 2 user Messages.  The script saves the last gas mask equipped or unequipped and toggles that saved gas mask when the Toggle hotkey is pressed.

    []An MCM config file defining 5 hotkeys for: Gas Mask Wipe, Fast Filter Replace, Repair Kit, Repair Menu, and Toggle plus and option to block hotkeys when in menus.

    []An MCM keybinding file that for each hotkey calls a small function in the script to perform each Gas Mask feature

    Let me know if I missed one but the following gas masks are supported by the mod as of 12/31/2020:

      That's it!  It is just a tiny quality of life mod that I wanted to share with others that enjoy Gas Masks of the Wasteland.

      Installation

      Pick whether you want the script (2.x) or non-script (1.x) version.  Both Mod Configuration Menu and Gas Masks of the Wasteland are required.  Install with a mod manager like Vortex or extract the files to your Fallout 4 directory and enable.

      Uninstallation

      Use a mod manager or delete the ESL file and associated MCM directory anytime.  It's only hotkeys so there is no way it will break your game.

      I am open to suggestions about how I could provide some more functionality in this mod.
