Dialogue Freeze Fix - F4SE

Introduction

You talk to an NPC. Your mouse and keyboard do nothing, the dialogue choices won't click, and you have to reload. That's the dialogue freeze.

Fallout 4 gives every open menu a depthPriority. Some overlays (Float damage, HUDcaps, etc.) can sit above DialogueMenu and steal your input.

This mod fixes that at runtime. When a conversation starts, it temporarily lowers those overlays so DialogueMenu keeps focus. Everything is restored when the conversation ends. Written in C++ and responds quickly. No scripts, no file edits, no save dependency.  (Dynamic by default, but you can switch to static in the config.)

Installation

Install with your mod manager. That's it.

Any time. No cleanup needed.

Game Versions

Available for OG (1. 10. 163) and NG/AE. For OG users, your F4SE log may show the plugin as not loaded or missing version info. That's cosmetic. The plugin works normally. You can ignore it.
