Commonwealth Mining

This mod adds a unique mining device called the Cap Miner, which allows you to mine bottle caps by installing graphics cards collected throughout the world. Graphics cards can be found in boss containers—special loot boxes usually found at the end of dungeons—and then slotted into the Cap Miner to start generating caps over time.

Note:

• This mod assumes you're using a high-output generator mod. The Cap Miner consumes a large amount of power, and vanilla generators won’t be sufficient without heavy infrastructure.

  This mod goes beyond simply building mining equipment. To start mining, you must assemble the Cap Miner and collect graphics cards—42 types across six tiers: Low-end, Entry, Mainstream, Performance, High-end, and Flagship. These can be found in dungeons and installed into the miner to generate caps.

  The Cap Miner can be found under RESOURCES > MISCELLANEOUS in the settlement workshop. A low-cost version can be crafted once per playthrough, while any additional miners require a significantly higher cap cost to activate. All versions offer the same performance.

  Graphics cards are found in 'boss containers'—special loot containers typically located near the end of dungeons. They come in six tiers, each offering different mining performance and power consumption: Low-end, Entry, Mainstream, Performance, High-end, and Flagship.

  Boss containers are pre-defined loot boxes in Fallout 4, usually placed near dungeon exits. For example, the safe at the end of the Mole Rat Den near Red Rocket is one such container. When the dungeon resets, graphics cards will appear in these containers again, allowing you to collect them multiple times.

  The mining equipment includes an overclocking feature. When enabled, it increases cap output at the cost of higher power consumption and reduced efficiency.

  To install or remove graphic cards or access the overclocking menu, you need to first disconnect the power from the generator. It’s recommended to connect the mining equipment through an intermediate power switch instead of directly to the generator.

  The VGA Vending Machine is located next to the mining machine in the building menu. You can buy a random graphics card for 5,000 caps or sell any graphics cards you own back to the machine.

  In the MCM menu under "Commonwealth Mining," you can adjust two settings: one controls the mining rate multiplier, and the other toggles the visibility of the icon displayed above containers containing graphics cards. For
