📋 About This Mod
Name : The Traveler Project Version : v2. 2 beta Category : New Lands Author : Soulcommando -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Requirements: -You need all of the DLCs to run this mod (Operation: Anchorage, The Pitt, Broken Steel, Point Lookout, Mothership Zeta). -You need High science skill (75) to unlock terminals
Recommended: -To take advantage of the Alien Ice Gun's rapid semi fire ability, you need FOSE installed. (You DO NOT have to have FOSE to play this mod.)
Description: This mod adds a facility near Jefferson Memorial called the CR-3 Facility (there will be a mapmarker for it on your Pipboy). This facility is home to the Traveler Project, a top-secret government project from before the war. The project was centered around developing methods of teleportation through the use of portals, but the project instead resulted in gateways opened to worlds beyond... Notes: This is my first mod worthy of uploading, so any feedback and comments are welcome. If you liked this mod, please endorse to show your support! :)
To everyone updating from the alpha, please move your character OUTSIDE of any area related to this mod before updating!
12/21/2015 - Hey everyone! I know it's been a VERY long time since I've done anything mod related, but with the release of Fallout 4 I've been dabbling in it once again. I finally got around to checking up on this mod as a result, and was thrilled to see such support for this mod! I fully expected this mod would end up fading into obscurity shortly after I retired from modding (especially given this mod's, in my opinion, unfinished state). In fact, I've found this mod to have more than double the endorsements since I've last checked on it, with a significant portion of those coming from the past year or so!
As such, upon the release of sufficient modding tools for Fallout 4 (namely the Fallout 4 GECK), I will attempt to work on a Fallout 4 installment of the Traveler Project. Due to my time consuming studies as a graduate student, I can't make any promises just yet, but I can at least say that there may be more of the Traveler Project in the future!
EDIT: Not sure why the comments for this are locked though. Will have to contact a moderator to look into that.
7/20/12 -Super important bugfixes made by fellow modder, freddy_farnsworth! Big thanks to him for his awesome bugfixing skills! :D <The Traveler Project adds a new explorable location near the Jefferson Memorial in Fallout 3: an old service entrance to a forgotten experimental facility. With 632 endorsements and nearly 12,000 downloads, it's a well-received content mod for players seeking new areas to explore, though it hasn't been updated since 2012.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community-approved with 632 endorsements and nearly 12,000 downloads.
- Adds a fresh location to explore in the Capital Wasteland, perfect for lore hunters.
- Simple premise: discover a hidden entrance and dive into a mystery.
⚠️ Cons
- Last updated in 2012 — may have compatibility issues with modern setups or mods.
For Fallout 3 explorers who've memorized the Capital Wasteland and crave new places to poke around. If you're into lore and environmental storytelling, this mod gives you a mysterious facility to uncover. Skip if you want gameplay overhauls or quests with voice acting — this is a location mod, not a full quest mod.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Since it's an old mod, make sure your load order is clean and consider using a mod manager like FOMM or Vortex to avoid conflicts.
- The entrance is near the Jefferson Memorial, so fast travel there and look around for a service entrance.
- If you're playing with other location mods, check for overlapping areas to prevent clipping or missing objects.
