📋 About This Mod
Useful House Robots (Wadsworth & Godfrey) - UPDATED VERSION Version: 2. 0 Author: Chrome Hamster Did you ever wonder why your Mr. Handy house robot is not actually very handy beyond giving you the occasional bottled water? Well, wonder no longer. And what\'s better, they are open for service 24 hours a day! This groundbreaking update to my original mod now makes all repairs free. Two versions are available: Lore Friendly (Repair Skill 15) and Cheater (Repair Skill 100). Please use for your own enjoyment or inspiration, and feel free to pass it around or upload to other sites (BUT PLEASE REMEMBER TO GIVE ME PROPER CREDIT!) I will only post \"Official\" updates on Fallout 3 Nexus. ***************** Installation ************** Extract \"JHB House Robots Can Repair.esp\" to your \"\\Fallout 3\\Data\" folder and enable via FOMM. May require uninstall of other mods altering the house robots. *************** Issues / Bugs *************** 1. When your robot brings up his repair screen, it will display 100,000 Caps. When you select items to repair, it will act as if it is charging you and it will deduct from this amount. This is because of the method I used to get around Fallout 3\'s hardcoding of unified repair vendor prices. Do not panic! When you close out of the repair window, the amount of caps in your inventory will be correct. 2. If you somehow try to repair more than 100,000 Caps worth of items at the same time, you may get a notice about \"Not Enough Caps.\" If that happens, just reduce the number of items you are repairing at that time, then exit completely out of the repair dialog. When you go to repair your next batch of items, the Caps number will be reset to 100,000. Even for cheaters, this potential situation should be extremely rare. 3. Please report any you find. ****************** Acknowledgements ****************** Thanks to Bethesda for making Fallout 3! ***************** Release History ******************** 2. 0 Reworked dialog and scripting to make repairs free. Why would you pay your own robot servant to work, righ? Repair Skills set to 15 in \"Lore Friendly\" version. Repair Skills set to 100 in \"Cheat\" version. Removed access to \"Storage\" option as its purpose became redundant. 1. 0 Added a \"Repair\" option to both Wadsworth (Megaton) and Godfrey (Tenpenny Tower). To avoid game imbalance, their Repair Skills are set at 15 and it costs caps to use them. This mod is Lore Friendly. I mean, don\'t you think something called a \"Mr. Handy\" should at least be able to do limited repairs? I have also released a separate \"cheat\" version where the Repair Skills are set to 100 and you have an option to get
This Fallout 3 mod lets your house robots Wadsworth in Megaton and Godfrey in Tenpenny Tower repair your gear. ✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community-approved with 581 endorsements and over 11k downloads—clearly a mod people use.
- Lore-friendly version keeps the game's balance intact, while the cheat version is there if you want a break from repair costs.
- Saves you caps and fast travel time—just have your robot fix your gear at home.
⚠️ Cons
- Last updated in 2010—might have compatibility issues with newer Fallout 3 setups or mods.
- Only affects two specific robots, so if you don't use Megaton or Tenpenny Tower as your base, it's less useful.
- No detailed instructions or compatibility notes provided by the author, so you're on your own if something goes wrong.
For Fallout 3 players who base themselves in Megaton or Tenpenny Tower and want a convenient repair option without trekking to a vendor. Also for those who want a lore-friendly way to use their robot butlers. Skip if you rarely need repairs or prefer to keep the game's challenge intact.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure to pick either the lore-friendly or cheat version—don't install both to avoid conflicts.
- If you're using a mod manager, let it handle the file placement to keep your data folder clean.
- Test the mod after installing by talking to Wadsworth or Godfrey and asking about repairs.
