V4 is the latest and best version, I will leave the instructions and files up for previous versions but I highly recommend V4 as it uses less shaders overall, is easier on fps and is easier to install.
----------V4 and all previous versions seamless installation ------------
Run reshade and select Elden Ring -> Select DX 10/11/12 -> Update ReShade and effects -> In the bottom right corner use browse and find the .ini file you downloaded and select that. From here it should automatically select all necessary shaders and effects for its respective .ini file. You can also add on any additional effects you would like to have. This should clear up any issues about certain shaders not compiling or giving errors as this works differently than dropping the .ini file into a directory and selecting it from the in-game reshade menus.
V2 is a continuation of V1 with increased contrast and some desaturation to help the lighting feel more natural and less washed/yellow.
V3 adds HDR and Bloom to make the lighting feel more cinematic. The bloom is subtle as I didn't want it to overshadow the rest of the lighting in the game as some blooms do. HDR just adds more depth to the blacks and highlights to the lights in a more natural way.
ReShade installation :
Download and run ReShade (https://reshade.me/)
Open, find and select Elden Ring under the games list

ReShade Config installation and use:

Once in game use the ReShade overlay key (default "Home") and navigate to the long bar immediately above the search bar and use the drop down. Scroll down and find the file you have downloaded and click select.

📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community-approved with 322 endorsements and nearly 18k downloads
- Delivers a dramatic lighting overhaul that makes Elden Ring's world feel more grounded and immersive
- Recent update (Sept 2024) suggests active maintenance
⚠️ Cons
- Description is cut off, so full feature list and install instructions are missing
- May darken shadowed areas too much for some players, potentially hiding enemies or details
- Requires ReShade to be installed separately, which adds setup steps
For Elden Ring players who want a more realistic, cinematic lighting experience without changing gameplay. If you enjoy atmospheric visuals and don't mind darker dungeons, this is for you. Skip if you prefer the original look or want gameplay tweaks.
