📋 About This Mod
Modifies the models of the Royal Knight helmet, altered and unaltered armor.
There's two color palettes to choose from, changing all the cloth to either the burgundy from the original pants or the blue from the original cape.
CHANGELIST:
-Replaces the golden satellite dish on the helmet with a corinthian-style crest like the one on Loretta's horse.
-Replaces the bulging thighs with layers of segmented plate, like on Ornstein's legs.
-Recolors all the cloth on the neck, chest armor and pants to the same color, either blue or burgundy.
-Removes the capelet from the unaltered armor, leaving just the longer cape dangling from an additional piece of plate.
-Removes all extraneous cloth from the altered version.
-Deflates the puffy upper arms and covers them with plate.
-Adds some chainmail to the lower half of the armor.
-Widens the helmet a bit, to better accomodate a human head.
INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS:
Extract the .rar file you downloaded. It contains a "parts" folder, and inside it are the .dcx files of the mod.
Drop the "parts" folder inside Mod Engine 2's "mod" folder. If there's already a "parts" folder from another mod in there, you can also drop the .dcx files directly into it.
If you don't want to use a certain piece, just go into the "parts" folder and delete/replace the corresponding DCX files:
-BD 1740 for the unaltered armor
-BD 1741 for the altered armor
-LG for the legs (the burgundy version won't have these files, since it's already colored that in vanilla)
-HD for the helmet
DESIGN RANT:
I always knew what I disliked about this set, but for the longest time I had no idea how to actually tackle it until this request came in clutch. I didn't end up using all of his ideas for this upload, but I have to recognise he had a vision.
A cosmetic overhaul for the Royal Knight armor set, redesigning the chest and helmet while retexturing all cloth to blue or burgundy, including the altered variant. With 37 endorsements and recent updates, it's a niche choice for players wanting a fresh look on this armor.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Gives the Royal Knight set a fresh, customizable look with two color options.
- Covers both the standard and altered versions, so you get consistent styling.
- Recently updated (March 2025), so it's likely compatible with current game patches.
⚠️ Cons
- Small following (37 endorsements) — you're an early adopter, so bugs may surface.
- Only affects cloth and the chest/helmet; other pieces remain unchanged.
- No screenshots or install instructions provided, so you're flying blind on the visual result.
For fashion-conscious players who want to personalize the Royal Knight set without overhauling the whole game. Skip if you're after gameplay changes or a full armor retexture — this is purely cosmetic and focused on one set.
💡 Beginner Tips
- If you're using a mod manager, preview the textures before installing to see if the blue or burgundy suits your character.
- Check the mod's file structure to ensure it overwrites the correct armor textures; if you have other Royal Knight retextures, load order matters.
- Since it affects the altered armor too, test with both versions in-game to confirm the changes apply as expected.
