📋 About This Mod

EldenRing-PostureBarMod

THIS IS EARLY VERSION - EXPECT SOME BUGS

General

The mod was created with the intention of presenting enemy posture as a UI element inside the game, as for me it increases enjoyment of the combat system when I can have such information visible and be capable of reacting more consciously to actual enemy state rather than try to blindly assume it or spend thousands of years learning by feeling the enemy's current posture damage state. As I play-tested it, I also quickly learned the value of playing aggressively and using more posture damage techniques and weapons, which I believe ultimately made me better at playing it.

The mod does not have ambitions to change any game data; it is only used to display it, so do not request such changes. Modularity is a nice thing; if you wish to change how the game behaves in terms of stagger values, etc., you can do that in another mod and still use it just to display data.

The mod should be mostly compatible with other mods as it does not modify data. It may only cause issues when using a mod that heavily changes HUD elements.

READ FIRST:

[]Enemy entity bars may "shake" a lot during movement, if that is a case, then you should modify PositionFixingMultiplier values inside PostureBarModConfig.ini. General rule is that if posture bars seems to drag behind health bars, then you should increase those values, if they tend to go ahead of health bars, then you should decrease it. Remember it is multiplier so it should be over 0, it can be real number. I recommend testing it first on horizontal axis (x), then on vertical axis (y). Remember that they always might be slightly out of sync, but you can make it as low as possible

[]You can start game in Offset Testing mode by switching OffsetTest value to true inside PostureBarModConfig.ini. It shall allow you to test parameters inside game, rather then by changing them inside .ini file and restarting game. During Offset Testing you can change what values you modify by pressing Page Down/Up keys, you can modify values with Arrow keys, and save currently modified offset to .ini with Insert key. Refer to menu on top-left during playing for more information
