Intro

ERTE mod was initially designed to create a more challenging experience for coop play. It can also be played solo but only if you are both a very skilled and a patient player. Be warned, if you go solo, it can be very frustrating at first if you dont invest some time into learning the new meta. Both enemies density and enemies hp pools have been heavily increased, and the scaling is flattened to end game level, so you have to find ways to overcome the combat challenges using the game tools at your disposal. If you find yourself hitting a wall, you most probably are not using the proper damage type against the enemies faced. You have to use a combination of weapons with different damage types. Use your brain. Lastly, If going solo, I suggest you to maximize your damage output focusing on a build instead of leveling up stats randomly, you are gonna need the highest damage output possible against some bosses.

New Optional Lite Version

I am aware many players want to play ERTE solo to try new weapons and bosses in a relaxed way, and they cant cope with the increased enemy count and choke points designed for coop play, so I released a Lite version without map edits other than the areas with new bosses. Scaling is still flattened, so players damage output goes from x1 up to roughly x2, but enemies hp is decreased x0. 7 from regular ERTE values. Think in this like a "baby mode" ERTE.

Main Features

- Combat is more lenient, you are allowed to cancel attacks earlier, and most attacks have been sped up.

- Perfect Block is active from the get go for all weapons.

- Perfect Release added to R2 charged attacks and bows/crossbows.

- New game difficulty balance. Scaling has been revamped and flattened. You can no longer break difficulty overleveling, no matter the route you choose. Instead of the ridiculous up to x7 scaling vanilla has, ERTE players damage and enemies hp goes up to x2 maximum. This means you still can, and need to, increase your total AR leveling up both your stats and your weapon. Forget about killing bosses with a pair of hits.
