Lights-Out Death Effect

This BepInEx IL2CPP plugin changes the death screen for a harsher, more immersive effect. Upon death, the screen briefly flashes white, then cuts to black, with audio muffled. The death text from vanilla game is preserved.

MAJOR UPDATE: Randomized Effects Added

Make sure to delete your old .cfg so a new one for the updated plugin can generate. Once you're done edtting the new config, restart the game for it to take effect.

A problem I personally had with this plugin is that I get desensitised to the fixed effect, so I've made the effects random to always catch players off guard. PS: You can still configure the plugin remove randomness if you prefer.

Tree new settings added: MuffleAudioChance , MuteAudioChance and WhiteFlashChance

They do not use True/False toggle. Instead their settings use any value from 0 to 1

1 = always, 0 = never, anything between = that % chance per death.

Audio: MuteAudioChance + MuffleAudioChance

These two must add up to 1 to work as expected. Mute is rolled first, muffle gets what's left, and any leftover under 1 is a chance of no effect at all.

1 / 0 → always mute

0 / 1 → always muffle

0. 5 / 0. 5 → 50/50 mute or muffle each death

0. 3 / 0. 3 → 30% mute, 30% muffle, 40% normal audio

Adding up to more than 1 breaks the odds — Mute always wins first, Muffle only gets the leftover slice (e.g. 1/1 = always mute, never muffle).

White Flash: WhiteFlashChance

Independent setting, chance the white flash plays before cutting to black.

1 → always flashes

0 → never flashes (good for photosensitivity)

0. 5 → roughly every other death

Presets

Classic (no randomness): Mute=0, Muffle=1, Flash=1

Fully random: Mute=0. 5, Muffle=0. 5, Flash=0. 5

Photosensitivity-friendly: Mute=0, Muffle=1, Flash=0

Multiplayer:

This is purely client-side visual/audio effect. Should only affect the player using the plugin.
