Original behavior:
Low offers: AI would mostly reject or throw tantrums.
Mid-range offers: a mix of counter and rejection, but very stingy.
High-value players: AI often outright rejects anything <75% of asking.
Revamped behavior:
Philosophy: AI rarely rejects. It negotiates (counter-offers) instead.
Acceptances
- Much higher when your offer is close to their asking price.
- Tapers gradually as you underbid (50–40% offers).
- Even low offers get a small chance of acceptance (10–20%), so you occasionally get lucky.
Counter-Offers
- Now the dominant outcome for underbids.
- Pushes back against your low offers instead of outright rejecting.
- Peaks in the mid-to-low offers (say 40–75%), giving a realistic haggling experience.
Rejections
- Almost eliminated below absurdly low offers.
- Usually under 5% chance for offers that are 50%+ of asking.
- Only increases slightly for extreme underbids (below 30% of asking price) or ridiculous overpays.
