📋 About This Mod

A shared and extensible runtime layer for mods that need access to the running game.

Description

DL:TB Runtime Bridge is a shared runtime library for Dying Light: The Beast mods.

  • []It does not affect gameplay on its own. It exists so that mods that need access to the running game can share one maintained runtime layer, which makes conflicts and potential bugs much easier to manage.[/]

[]If a mod lists DL:TB Runtime Bridge as a requirement, install it and you are done. Everything below is mostly here for updates, troubleshooting and people who want to know what it is actually doing.[/]

    Why separate it out?

Mods that use the Bridge can share the same runtime support instead of each including their own copy. That also means game updates can usually be handled here once rather than separately for every mod.

    Requirements

    • []Dying Light: The Beast 1. 6. 4.[/]

[]Nothing else. Ultimate ASI Loader is included with the archive.[/]

      Installation

      • []Install and enable the archive in Vortex, then deploy.[/]

[]For a manual installation, extract it into your game folder while keeping the \ph_ft\work\bin\x64 folder structure. DLTBRuntimeBridge.asi belongs in that folder.[/]

[]Keep only one winmm.dll there. If you already use Ultimate ASI Loader for another mod, you do not need another copy.[/]

      Upgrading from Older Versions

If you already have an older version of AutoSurvival, fully remove it before installing the new version and the Bridge.

Updating replaces DLTBRuntimeBridge.ini with the packaged copy, so any settings you changed return to their defaults. Note them first if you have tuned anything.

      Settings

The Bridge's settings live in ph_ft\work\bin\x64\DLTBRuntimeBridge.ini, and every one of them is documented in the file itself.

From 3. 0. 3 the file also describes its settings to CRANE's manager, so if you have CRANE installed you can change logging, the console and the rest as labelled controls under Settings rather than editing the file by hand. CRANE is not required for this or anything else; it is simply the easier route if you already use it.

      Uninstalling

Remove or disable the Bridge in Vortex and deploy. For a manual installation, delete:

ph_ft\work\bin\x64\DLTBRuntimeBridge.asiLeave winmm.dll in place if any other ASI mod is still installed. It is what loads them. Any mod that requires the Bridge will stop working once it is gone. No save data is touched.

      Reporting a Problem

The Bridge keeps one log covering itself and the mods using it. That is usually enough to tell whether a problem is coming from the Bridge, a client mod, or the game build itself. ph_ft\work\bin\x64\DLTBRuntimeBridge.log Please attach that file to bug reports about the Bridge or any mod that uses it. It saves a great deal of guessing.

      Lua scripting: CRANE

      • []Not needed to play, and not needed by any mod.[/]

[]CRANE is a separate mod that adds a Lua scripting runtime on top of the Bridge. Lua mods can then use the game functionality the Bridge exposes without each one shipping its own native ASI client.[/]

[]It also comes with a loader for adding, enabling, ordering and configuring Lua mods, and for editing this mod's settings.[/]

[]It lets you poke at the game's internals, in case that's your thing.[/]

        Credits

[]Thanks to EricPlayZ for EGameTools. Its source code provided a valuable reference for native runtime work against Dying Light 2.[/]

[]Thanks to Lucifer for SI Trainer, which provided useful implementation ideas and another independent example of working directly with the Dying Light 2 runtime.[/]

[]Thanks to Pathoschild for SMAPI, which provided useful ideas for how a mature modding API can be structured and presented to client mods.[/]

[*]Thanks to Norbyte for BG3 Script Extender, whi
