TL;DR

The vanilla mobs in veteran and elite give very little xp and the further you go the more grinding is needed. Not with this mod! This mods adjusts the experience given by veteran and elite mobs, so that the progress is similar to the progress in the regular world.

-Now with LoA monsters. Both veteran and elite versions of the LoA map will now be balanced as well.

-A full rework of the balancing system. Now monsters will be balanced between different areas so that there will be a steady increase in xp as you progress. (Image comparing V1. 0 and V2. 0 down below)

The Problem

Have you too finished the main game? Whacked Gom, saved Ehb, and saw you can continue leveling on with the veteran mode of the Utraean Peninsula map? And have you noticed that at some point the leveling up process stops to a complete slog? You are not the only one. The experience amounts mobs give in veteran and elite were either miscalculated or done purposely to drive us all insane. Don't believe me? Here are some comparisons:

The Solution

The idea to keep the veteran and elite worlds challenging is still in line with this mod, you will need progressively more mob kills to keep yourself at a high enough level. However there will be almost no grind needed. The only grind will be near the end of both Veteran and Elite worlds. So get ready to explore those lava caverns and gain some experience this time.

What's changed

• []All the monsters have been modified in their veteran and elite versions to give xp appropriate to what you need to gain a level at the area you encounter them in. Harder enemies give more, weaker give less.

  []Some town level requirements have been changed to allow for a more balanced leveling up experience. Notice that in the Utraean Peninsula map the guards will still give you low level warnings at the same levels as they did before, because the monster difficulty was not changed. This was done purposefully, you will need to grind if you want to be "over leveled".

  []The gold award for Hovart's quest is now balanced for veteran and elite.

  []Speaking of gold, the gold limit expander is already included in this mod. A treat from me.

  Installation

  Throw the Vetelite xp Balance V2_0.dsres file into the resources folder with the rest of the lot. located in:

  • For Retail Version: C:/Program Files/Microsoft Games/Dungeon Siege/Resources

    For Steam Version: C:/Program Files/Steam/steamapps/common/Dungeon Siege/Resources

  An optional version for non expansion Dungeon Siege 1 is available as well. The LoA version will not break your game though.

  Compatibility

  This mod will have compatibility issues with any mod that changes the monster files for veteran and elite.

  A patch for Starfall's DS1 Difficulty Patch is included.
