No Attack Visual Effect - Clear Combat Animations

Description

I made this mod because I wanted to actually see the characters' combat animations without all of the attack effects covering them.

This mod removes the visible attack and skill VFX, leaving the character animations much easier to watch during combat.

It can be especially useful if you want to:

• []See character attack animations more clearly [/]

  []Take cleaner screenshots or recordings of combat [/]

  []Reduce visual clutter during fights [/]

  []Study or compare character animations [/]

  []Potentially improve performance or frame rate during effect-heavy combat [/]

The performance difference will depend on your system and the situation, so I can't guarantee an FPS increase.

Important drawback

The main downside is that characters who rely heavily on magic, ranged attacks, AoE skills, or visible targeting effects can become harder to play.

WARNING 

Since the effects are removed, you may NOT be able to clearly see:

• []Where a magic spell is landing [/]

  []The visible range of an AoE attack [/]

  []Projectiles or magical effects [/]

  []Some other visual skill indicators [/]

The skills themselves still work, but the missing visual feedback can make it difficult to tell exactly where certain attacks are going.

Melee characters are generally much easier to use with this mod.

Installation

Extract the archive and place the included

.pakfile in:

DragonSword Awakening\DS\Content\Paks\~mods\If the

~modsfolder does not exist, create it.

Uninstallation

Delete the mod's

.pakfile from the

~modsfolder.

Compatibility

This mod may conflict with other mods that modify the same attack or skill VFX files.

Notes

I mainly made this because I wanted a clean way to watch the characters actually fight. Dragon Sword has some really nice combat animations, but during normal gameplay they can be hard to see underneath all the effects.
