📋 About This Mod

All mobs drop gear, no shops sell gear. Adds some spice to consecutive playthroughs by removing fixed gear drops from certain encounters, removing all gear from shops, and adding my own hand made drop tables for each class. You can change

This is my take on a loot mod that I made for my own playthroughs and figured I would share. The main feature of this mod is the handmade tiered gear tables and edited enemy drop tables that ensure a steady progression rather than complete rng (but still some!). I have spent a long time in spreadsheets balancing this, and expect to spend even more to ensure when you kill a strong monster it should reward an adequately strong item rather than adding to your backpack junk. You can also configure how often the gear obtained via this mod will be usable by your vocation, your main pawns vocation or completely random. Due to there being 9 vocations/weapon types, it is very often you find your backpack being filled with irrelevant gear otherwise.

Features:

  • []All mobs can drop gear based on their difficulty, different mobs have different drop chances. (excludes mantles, masks and jewelery)

  • []Certain monster encounters will no longer have fixed drops, eg;

  • []The likelihood of gear obtained from this mod being usable by your vocation or your main pawns vocation can be configured in reframework. By default it is 50% for player, 25% for main pawn and the remaining 25% is random.

    []The likelihood of gear obtained being a certain item type can also be configured. By default it is 55% for armours, 35% for weapons and 10% for utility items (magic books, wakestone shards and ferrystones)

  • []All functional combat gear has been removed from the shops so that 100% of your gear progression is from hunting monsters. (excludes mantles, masks and jewelery)

  • []Removed the free armour you get from unlocking a new class, you will still obtain the weapon though.

  • Due to the above feature sharing the same file, I decided to change the preview gear when choosing vocations to be a little more flattering.

    REQUIRES REFRAMEWORK version Nightly763 or newer!

    This mod edits the game files and also uses my own script, reframework is required both for the script and for the loose file loading because pak files cannot be loaded alongside other files in the same mod. You DO NOT need to enable loose files loader, you will know it's working because without reframework the game will fail to launch with loose natives files present.

    Installation: I recommend installing through Fluffy Mod Manager, but due to this mod using loose files over pak files, I see no reason why it can't be installed manually if you wish. Just drop the 'natives' and 'reframework' folders into your games directory, where DD2.exe is located.
