📋 About This Mod
Overhauling the loot system with gear drops, lucky loot, bonus items, super luck, enhancements, chest respawn, stack sizes, economy and world event frequency.
Infamous Loot Overhaul
A loot overhaul for Dragon's Dogma 2. Enemies and chests can yield
equipment, ordinary finds can multiply, and prices, chest respawns and
world event frequency are adjustable. Everything is configurable in
game, and every setting can be turned off.
Requires REFramework. No other
dependencies. Built and tested against TDB version 83.
Feel free to reuse anything here. If this mod helped you build your
own, a mention in your credits is appreciated — that is how I found my
way into the drop tables and the chest system in the first place.
Compatibility
What it does
Presets. Whole configurations under a name, at the top of the panel.
Four are built in and an option to manage your own presets
Gear drops. Chests, bosses and regular enemies can yield equipment
on top of their normal loot. The tier follows the region: Vermund
yields tier 1, Battahl tier 2, the Volcanic Island tier 3, and the
post-game tier 4, with an occasional step up or down. A share of weapon
drops is matched to the vocation you are currently playing.
Lucky loot. One roll per chest, corpse, kill or gathering spot. If
it wins, the eligible items from that source are multiplied — usually
doubled, sometimes tripled. It applies to materials, curatives,
gold and a short list of named items. Equipment, quest items,
wakestones and ferrystones are never multiplied.
Bonus items. A separate roll for one extra item from the same pool,
tiered by region.
Super luck. A rare chance that a drop lands above the tier its
region would normally give — tier 3 or 4 in Vermund and Battahl, tier 4
on the Volcanic Island. Because the tier carries through to everything
that follows, such a find also uses the endgame smith weighting and is
the only way a goblin in Vermund can hand you a Dragonforged piece.
Enhancements. Dropped equipment can arrive already enhanced. The
smith type follows the region — Vermundian in Vermund, Battahli in
Battahl, Dwarven mostly on the Volcanic Island. Wyrmfire needs all
three levels first and only occurs at tier 4, as in the game.
Item stacks. Raises how many of an item fit in one stack. A floor
rather than a multiplier, so everything stackable reaches the same
limit. Items that do not stack are left alone.
Chest respawn. Opened chests refill after a set number of in-game
days. Sphinx rewards and one-off story chests never respawn.
Economy. Scales buy and sell prices and the gold and material cost
of enhancements. Merchants also carry a rolled selection rather than a
fixed list — what they offer, how much of each, and how often it changes.
Merchants. Equipment merchants carry a rolled selection rather
than the same list forever. Two rolls per shop: how many wares it
puts out, and how many of each it holds.
World events. Scales the cooldown of the sudden quests — the
defeat, escort and protect encounters. More events means more bosses,
which is why it sits in a loot mod.
Installation
Extract into the game folder so the files end up at:
Dragons Dogma 2/
└── reframework/
└── autorun/
├── InfamousLootOverhaul.lua
└── (files)Or use Fluffy Mod Manager.
Settings live in the REFramework menu under Script Generated UI →
Infamous Loot Overhaul. They are saved to `reframework/data/ILO/Config.json`.
Uninstalling
Delete the files and restart the game. Nothing is written to your save,
prices, stack sizes and event timers are back to normal on the next
Or just simply use Fluffy Mod Manager.
Settings and chest respawn data live in `reframework/data/ILO/` and can
be deleted along with the mod.
Configuration
Every section has an About node explaining what it does, and a
Reset section button. Sliders show a description on hover. There is
a Reset all settings button at the bottom.
Three defaults worth knowing about:
- Pity increase raises the gear chance after every failed roll and
resets on a hit. At the default 0. 01 it only softens long dry spells.
