📋 About This Mod
Increases the stats of weapon and armor gained from smithing upgrades so that enhancing equipment actually feels impactful.
Description:
This mod uses what ESO gave to us, but this is a simpler-lightweight file that only focuses on smithing upgrades for weapons and armor, requiring only 1 lua file.
Weapons & Shields:
Each weapon is pushed toward a stat ceiling based on the best-in-slot weapon for that vocation, then scaled by whichever smithing style you use:
-
[]Vermundian — balanced STR and MAG boost, slight KND (knockdown) power increase[/]
[]Battahli — heavy STR focus, moderate MAG, no KND change[/]
[]Elven — heavy MAG focus, moderate STR, slight KND reduction[/]
[]Dwarven — moderate STR and MAG, strong KND power boost[/]
[]Wyrmfire — unique; takes ~10% of the average across all other styles plus a bonus on top, and adds flat elemental/bash/debilitation effect power instead of scaling it per level[/]
Early/weaker weapons are also given a slightly lower ceiling than endgame weapons so upgrading starter gear never catches up to a fully upgraded endgame piece.
Gains are split unevenly across the 3 upgrade levels weighted by cost — Level 1 gives the smallest stat boost and Level 3 gives the biggest stat boost.
Vermundian and Elven upgrades reduce weapon weight; Battahli and Dwarven increase it.
Special Elven Feature:
Only Elven smithing improves armor elemental resistances.
-
[]2x multiplier on elemental resistance on Chest and Leg armor that come with any elemental resistances[/]
[]Helmets get special treatment, a much larger boost (currently set to 16x), making headgear the best slot to stack elemental resistance through Elven upgrades[/]
[]Debilitation resistances (Poison, Sleep, Burn, Freeze, Silence, Petrify, etc.) — ~0. 33x multiplier on all armor pieces[/]
[]Armor with a negative resistance (a weakness) is also improved — the upgrade chips away at the penalty rather than adding to a positive[/]
Config:
Config values at the top of the .lua file lets you tune everything to your own preferences for your own playstyle/balance —

The STR/MAG penalty on special weapons
