📋 About This Mod

Three skills to be used with the Skill Maker mod by alphaZomega

Raise your weapon in the sky and enchant your weapon with flame, frost, or lightning. Usable with all classes. Looks better with staves/weapons held in your right hand. Functions the same as vanilla weapon buffs.

Requires Skill Maker and all of it's requirements.

Install by using Fluffy Mod Manager or dropping the unzipped folder into your Dragon's Dogma 2 install location.

In game, open the Skill Maker menu and set load Flame Buff, Ice Buff, and Thunder Buff spells to a button press. Personally, I have mine set to LT+ Dpad Up, Right, and Down.

Uninstall by removing the Fire Buff.json, Ice Buff.json, and Tunder Buff.json files from the reframework\data\SkillMaker\Skills in your DD2 folder, or by using Fluffy

Not taking requests, sorry.

I hope you enjoy.

Known Issues:

Rarely the buff will not apply for some reason. Usually works on the second try. Should be working much better now, if you have issues still please let me know in a comment, I'll try to get to it when I can.

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Solid niche pick with 69 endorsements and over 5,700 downloads—clearly some players are using it.
  • Adds elemental flair to combat, which is a fun way to spice up your weapon loadout.
  • Lightweight addon that slots into the Skill Maker ecosystem, so if you're already using that, this is a no-brainer.

⚠️ Cons

  • Requires Skill Maker as a dependency, so if you don't have that framework, you'll need to grab it first.
  • Last updated in May 2024—not abandoned, but not actively maintained either, so future game patches might break it.
  • Only 69 endorsements, so it's a smaller mod with a niche audience—don't expect a ton of community support or patches.
🎯 Is This For You?
For players who already use Skill Maker and want to add elemental weapon buffs with a bit of visual drama. If you're not into Skill Maker or prefer more grounded combat, this isn't for you.
📦 Install:Medium· 5-10 minutes

💡 Beginner Tips

  • Make sure you have Skill Maker installed and properly configured before adding this mod, otherwise it won't work.
  • Test the enchantments on a spare weapon first to see the visual effects and ensure they don't clash with your other mods.
  • If you're using a mod manager, let it handle the file placement to avoid overwriting anything from Skill Maker.
